Strongest Typhoon Since WWII... Really?

Postby GuyJean » Tue Oct 01, 2002 7:10 pm

Strongest typhoon since WWII puts wind up Tokyo

I think the Japanese Meteorological Agency is wrong, like they usually are.

I saw the sattelite images, and I don't see any sign of a powerful typhoon. There's no eye!! Who's in charge here?

The GuyJean weather report predicts: substantial rain with some gusts of wind. Low lying areas should keep track of rising water levels. Tomorrow will be a sunny, hot day.

The typhoon is moving too fast to be as powerful as they say.. Strongest since WWII?.. Ha!

Now watch me eat my words, but it's now 7pm and it's barely raining where I am..

Just starting to blow a gale here in Tokyo... might head off home I think.. seems pretty strong but typhoons are mild compared to the tropical storms back home....

I hope you'll make it. Actually, I'm sure you will.

It's 10:11; no rain, wind has died down, and I can see patches of sky.

Tomorrow will be a beautiful, hot day :)

I'm sure there was some damage in parts of Japan, especially in Saitama, but I'm sorry. That was a tame 'worst typhoon in 50 years!'.

I like how every channel has screaming, on-location news guys, strategically placed in all the worst locations whenever a typhoon approaches..

I hope all you f*ckers survived. Seriously!

Damage Report - live from GomiGirl's boudoir

Postby GomiGirl » Wed Oct 02, 2002 3:46 pm

Star Date: Wed 2 October 2002
Time: Breakfast time
Location: Tokyo - GomiGirl luxurious (?) 40 sq m apartment.

Damage report: One potplant knocked off it's water drainer.

End Report.

Actually I loved the TV reports showing all the umbrellas which had been blown inside out or being blown along the street. I was blown about a bit on my walk from the subway which seemed a bit stronger than previous typhoons, but was not much doing really. However, I am from a place where tropical cyclones will take roofs from houses and relocate your car. 8O

What a gorgeous day today!! I am in such a good mood - peace love and mung beans to you all. (Just thought I would share.)

The rest of japan should follow Okinawa's lead when it comes to typhoons...cancel everything and stay home from work/school and enjoy the free day off!!
The rule is IF the buses stop running the EVERYONE stays home.
