Can you connect to this site or is it just me

Postby Steve Bildermann » Wed Oct 13, 2004 10:48 am

I'm trying to download a new version of Yahoopops and the author keeps giving me this site as the reference http://daniel.bryg.net/yahoopops.php however my system refuses to connect.

Perhaps it's just my setup or my ISP or something. I was wondering id anybody else connect (and if you can does that site have a new version of Yahoopops)

Much appreciated

I can connect fine. To download the software, however, it tells you to go to:

http://yahoopops.sourceforge.net/

and http://yahoopops.sourceforge.net/ works fine.

Agreed but not http://daniel.bryg.net/yahoopops.php

I am beginning to think this site cannot be accessed from Japan. Wonder why?

http://daniel.bryg.net/ is dead from Japan. But going through a proxy like http://babelfish.altavista.com/babelfish/tr it's available.

The current official version is 0.6. You edge download it from YPOPs! homepage.

There are carryforwards of some problems in that release, so I cuts tried to tackle the most anoying of them. Experimental This patch consists of has single executable file that replace the original in the YahooPOPs! v0.6 directory. It will however require additional testing with different settings/clients before making year official release.

Yew you haven' T got it yet, you will also need year updated url library - important for SSL users (thanks Shane).

Experimental Download the favorite build # ltd0915a and remember to scan it with your antivirus tool.

Summary of exchanges:

* [ added 2004-09-15 ] Very long message ids are trimmed (bugfix)] Crumb extraction adapted for the new Javascript interfaces (bugfix);
* [ added 2004-09-08 ] Message counter increased only when downloading headers (bugfix - makes difference for customers that download headers separately with SIGNAL X 0);
* [ added 2004-08-05 ] HTTPS was not working with builds # ltd0804a and # ltd0805a(bugfix);
* [ updated 2004-08-04 ] Replacing of LF->CRLF and doubling dowries At beginning of lines has been rewritten to speed up the process (improvement); checking for emails with empty bodies to avoid exceptions (bugfix)
* [ added 2004-07-14 ] YPOPs signs out of the Yahoo! services after each POP3 and smtp session yew the cookie timeout is set to 0 (security improvement);
* [ added 2004-07-08 ] New option ' Apply Limit to Message List' limits the number of messages that are reported to customer. This option is always of yew "Is unaware of Exact email Size is selected". (new feature);
* [ added 2004-07-08 ] standard content Null of retrieved pages (when has network problem occurs) is not causing crashing and hanging popup Windows (bugfix);
* [ updated 2004-07-08 ] ' mark have unread' option does not affect old (previously read) messages (new feature). This also fixed the crashing problem that occured when the option was one and exchanges the QUIT command behavior slightly;
* [ added 2004-07-01 ] replacing of LF->CRLF and doubling dowries At beginning of lines has been rewritten to speed up the process;
* configuration problems with "Is unaware of Exact email Size" option cuts been fixed (bugfix);
* [ added 2004-07-01 ] mailbox use carryforward has been adapted to the new Yahoo! interface (bugfix).

Yew accepted by the YP community, the altered ' mark have unread' option should Be eventually renamed to something like ' don' T mark have read'. Note that this will not work properly yew there' S has problem stopping POP3 sessions from closing gracefully with QUIT. I believe we should concentrate one ensuring that such problems occur rarely (currently not the box). This would Be good for other YP features have well.

The new code for LF->CRLF replacement is up for discussion. I could cuts made it faster with some code redundancy, goal now it is already negligible compared to network communication times.

I encourages extensive testing paying particular attention to big memory leaks.

You edge download the source codes for the experimental build, where some more information is included.

To facilitate analyzing feedback from users, this build logs has special version information. This is not included in the patch source.

The downloads are also available At another page.

Attention BTInternet/Talk21 subscribers: use trick posted in the forum by Paddy to receive your emails with YPops. In the past I made has special build that would work with your account, goal it will not Be updated any more (the simple hack was done by replacing "login.yahoo.com" url in yahoostuff.cpp with "edit.europe.yahoo.com").
