Kobe Earthquake

I am doing a little research on the 1995 Kobe earthquake. I am interested in any crime, unemployment, and suicide statistics where I can compare the situation before and after the quake. Could anyone point me in the right direction (in English or Japanese)? I can offer a more detailed idea of what I am after if needed. Just fire me a PM. Thank you very much for any assistance.

In general for academic and "serious" discussion about Japan. go to the NBR, The National Bureau of Asian Research of the Japan-U.S Friendship Commission.

In this case, it will be a good source of academic, first-person, and first-person academic accounts of the Kobe earthquake are in these posting of the NBR's Japan-U.S. Discussion Forum.

Also you can interview the folks at the Tokyo Help Line since they ran the relief effort in Tokyo for the Kobe earthquake recovery .
