Hoping not to get into a tussle about AS I want to at least say that there a far far worse things around that AS. Don't be taken in by 'conventional wisdom' Informed choice in all things.

Absolutely agree with you - but I have first hand seen some very unpleasant situations and outcomes that were as a direct result of abuse of AS.

There are pros and cons - in this situation the cons far outweighed the pros. But we are all big and ugly enough to make our own choices - as long as you are prepared for ALL possible consequences.

Actually I have seen some fairly unpleasant fall-outs from a few other "synthetic" things as well.

Perhaps I have just been unlucky or just hang out with the wrong crowd that my mother always warned me about.

Most AS (but not all) are illegal to purchase. As with many things in Japan it will *depend* on what you are trying to do and why.

Importing large quantities of any listed drug (AS or otherwise) for obvious resale will get you arrested. However small quantities (AS or otherwise) for personal use are not so strictly controlled. I have on occasion ordered penicillin and other anti inflammatory drugs and have not had a problem.

Several local over the counter products in Japan contain high levels of AS which would make them illegal in other countries.

If what you want to do is openly buy a wide range of AS here in Japan as you would say in Brazil or Mexico - forget it.
