Taro's house, but there's the small matter of a pink tutu and a few other things required to get your free drink.

You or Taro just try to put me into a pink tutu - should I ever reach 200 posts! But then - cappuccino - I s'pose that goes with pink tutus. Make mine Vodka, towarisch -- or if I have to go soft: Vodka Martini. Shaken, not stirred, nat'ch!

torasan wrote:Now, regarding Bobby Fischer's detention room at Narita Airport,
here's the inside skinny so to speak. Bobby-san is in the B-4
underground level of the Airport complex, and he is in a room with 8-9
other detainess, some of whom will leave for the home countries soon,
others who must wait for a papers to be completed before then can be
deported. Bobby is in a room that has a tatami floor, and there is a
clean toilet in the room for all cellmates to use. He is fed good
Japanese food three times a day, large helpings of rice, porridge,
fish, meats, vegetables and soups. Fruit too. At lights out at 9 pm,
he must sleep on a futon on the floor with the other cellmates, and an
electric light is on all night, according to inside sources who know
the set up there. The guards are friendly but firm. They feel sorry
for Bobby but they are following orders and if he gives them any
trouble, they will handle him that way. If he gets too rambuctious, he
will be put in a straitjacket room and kept solitary and incommunicato
until he decides to be more friendly. However, for now he is in the
main detainee room, green walls, tatami floor, toilet and a slot for
food to be passed in to the men there.

There is no exercise there, just the detention cell. If he stays for
more than 20 days, he will be taken to Kosuge Jail in downtown Tokyo,
an hour from the airport by prison bus, where he will be roped to
other prisoners, er, detainees. His hands will also be cuffed to the
bars behind each bus seat. At the Tokyo Detention House, or Kosuge, he
will be kept in a solitary cell, toilet inside the room, big enough
for a futon on the floor and that's it. A window, barred of course,
will give him a view of the inside courtyard with trees and grass. He
can hear the birds singing in the morning.

At deportation time, Bobby-san will be taken back to Narita Airport B4
level, and processed out. He will be escorted by two immigration
policemen, with his hands in handcuffs, yes, but there is a polite
blue cloth covering the handcuffs so that passersby and passengers in
the public terminal on the ground floor of the aiport will not SEE the
handcuffs. But they will see Bobby in his humiliatin, escorted by the
two beefy immig cops, all the way to the airplane that will fly him
back to the USA. He must return to USA, period. He cannot be deported
to a third country. He is heading to the USA, period.

At the boarding gate for the internatioinal flight home, Bobby's
handcuffs will be taken off and he will invited to enter the
airplane's cabin. If he doesn't enter, there could be trouble.

the detention system in the customs jail must have improved. When I was busted on my way back from Europe for staying 1 "ONE" day over my visa I was put away in the customs detention room. We had to pay for our own meals which was shitty shitty cold obentos. The toilet hadnt been cleaned in I dont know how long...pubes everywhere. No blankets. We had to sleep on benches in a locked up room. It was terrible. Some of the guards thought it was still 1940. Some however were ok. There were two that were ok.

With regards to Bobby.....saying he was happy about 9/11 is pretty sick. innocent people died. However it is true the jews run the US. Very true.

Ooooh, you shouldn't have said that. I'm gonna have my rabbi see to it that "full body cavity search" appears on your record in our Department Of Homeland Security systems for next time you pop back into the U.S. I could do it myself (we all have the passwords of course) but I am a little bit busy.

No worries, mate -- I checked with Moishe, my rabbinic connection, who checked with Shmul, Mossad's Super Secret Agent and "Keeper of Assassination-List, Sub-Department: "Priority List, Daily Updates". According to Shmul, "Cobra" isn't even on any sort of list. Heck, I hope they don't give the assignment "Cobra" to me once they find out how dangerous you are... I've got about 26 jobs ahead of any new assass-assignments I haven't managed to finish - they might hire you to do do away with me, 'coz I'm not eliminating my targets fast enough.

URGENT: BOBBY FISCHER WINS INJUNCTION!

Postby Bosnitch » Thu Sep 09, 2004 12:34 am

URGENT PRESS RELEASE

Bobby Fischer scores court victory!
Chess champ wins injunction against deportation

The Tokyo District Court on Wednesday granted an injunction to detained chess champion Bobby Fischer, barring his deportation from Japan until the court has heard and ruled upon the lawsuit that his lawyers have brought to cancel the deportation order. It could take as much as a year for the court to hear that case.

Bobby Fischer's lawyers, Ms. Masako Suzuki and Takeshi O'Hashi declared the injunction a big win for their client's rights and urged the Immigration Bureau not to appeal to a higher court. They called on the Bureau to respect a longstanding practice in which it does not appeal injunctions barring a physical deportation until the court has reviewed and ruled on the matter. They warned that if the Bureau appeals the injunction it would indicate that it is treating Bobby Fischer in a biased and politicized manner.

Fischer also made headway on two other matters. His application to marry to longtime Japanese companion Ms. Miyoko Watai has received provisional acceptance by the local authorities at the administrative office of Tokyo's Ohta Ward. The ward's acceptance has been sent for review to the legal affairs department of the Japanese Justice Ministry as a final step before a marriage certificate is issued. The ward office had earlier refused to accept the marriage while the U.S. embassy refused to notarize necessary files. Fischer's lawyers went around the embassy with alternate documentation.

Also, Fischer formally filed his demand for a U.S. official hearing to overturn the U.S. State Department's unlawful decision to revoke his passport. Fischer has completed a written appeal of that decision to be filed with US Secretary of State Colin Powell and the US embassy. A U.S. appeal hearing must be held within 60 days.

John Bosnitch, the head of the Tokyo-based Committee to Free Bobby Fischer, explained the expansion of the battle to the U.S. legal system. "A fish stinks from the head, and the 'head' of all this trouble is in Washington, D.C. So that is where we are going next," said Bosnitch.

Bobby Fischer claims he was 'kidnapped' by Japanese government
(By Marvin Feltcher, Mainichi Daily News, Sept. 12, 2004)
---- Incarcerated chess genius Bobby Fischer has claimed from his immigration bureau detention cell that he was "kidnapped" by the Japanese government.
"I am a kidnap victim of the Japanese government and they have kidnapped me at the behest of a corrupt, criminal U.S. regime," Fischer said in an Aug. 31 interview with Radio DZRH released on the Internet over the weekend....

It's the fault of the damn police.
Police stunned by kidnappers refusal to surrender

As a police patrol car arrived at the scene, the officers saw two men bundle Fischer into his own car and drive off. According to the police, a third man was keeping lookout in a station wagon.

The officers chased the car and caught up with it when it stopped at a red light. They banged on the car windows and demanded that the kidnappers surrender, but the suspects refused to comply and drove off. The officers said they got a good look at the suspects' faces and would be able to identify them.

Just in case you're counting (and who isn't) Bobby passes 90 days in the clink today on his way next week to his first 100 days in custody.

Gosh that absolute maximum 23 days in custody is sure getting s-t-r-e-t-c-h-e-d :D

Gee, I've totally forgot about my favorite butt-buddy Bobby....maybe Immigration did too.

However, I assume Bobby Fischer is being held on passport-visa charges and he is past the "maximum 23 days in custody" because he is refusing his shipment back to the US.

Does anybody know the EXACT charge?

All that freebobbyfischer.net rant about are "a new appeal, refugee claim, asylum offer, njunction against deportation, etc"

1. He's accused of violating Japanese immigration law by traveling with an invalid (cancelled) U.S. passport.
2. He has been stuck in the immigration detention center for so long because he has an ongoing appeal against the deportation order issued to him on Aug. 24. He can be held until that decision is handed down, which will either see him deported, freed, or, most likely, remain inside while he appeals again after the deportation order is upheld.

Bobby Fischer vows to take revenge for being put in slammer

Incarcerated chess genius Bobby Fischer has sworn -- literally and figuratively -- to take revenge on Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi and U.S. President George W. Bush for being detained in a Japanese cell for months.

"You are going to pay for this and you're going to pay for your crimes in Iraq, too," Fischer said in a comment directed at Koizumi.

He was speaking during an interview given from his detention center on Oct. 2 to a Philippine radio station and posted on the Internet on Thursday night.

 http://mdn.mainichi.co.jp/news/20041014p2a00m0dm012003c.html

The grandmaster also added that he believed the Japanese government was trying to make him sick by exposing him to radiation, citing the detention center's close proximity to Tokai, a village that became the site of Japan's worst nuclear accident following a 1999 reactor leak at a plant there

Bobby Fischer's U.S. lawyer travels to Japan, protests unconstitutional hearing
"This is not a passport issue"
Bobby Fischer's newly appointed U.S. lawyer, Richard J. Vattuone has traveled to Japan to protest the latest U.S. government violations of the rights of chess legend Bobby Fischer, who remains unjustifiably imprisoned in Japan. Officials of the U.S. Embassy in Tokyo on Friday, October 15 disregarded valid legal objections of Mr. Fischer by proceeding, in his absence, with a State Department hearing of his passport revocation appeal at the East Japan Immigration Center in Ushiku, northeast of Tokyo....more...

Bobby Fischer 'ambushed' by US gov't plot!

Postby Taro Toporific » Mon Oct 18, 2004 9:22 pm

Bobby Fischer 'ambushed' by US gov't plot, new lawyer says
(By Marvin Feltcher, Mainichi Daily News, Oct. 18, 2004)
Bobby Fischer is the victim of a U.S. government plot inspired by the Bush family and his outspoken comments against them, supporters said in a news conference at the Foreign Correspondents Club of Japan in Tokyo on Monday ... Vattuone argued that the Executive Order and the statute making a violation of an Executive Order criminal are "un-Constitutional, vague, ambiguous and eventually we will challenge those."
Vattuone listed a slew of other alleged misdeeds by U.S. government officials in response to Fischer's case, including the imposition of arbitrary time limits, ignoring deadlines they had set and destruction of the chess champion's passport, many of which added up to show that U.S. authorities had pre-judged Fischer's fate. He was also furious that Fischer's continued detention prevented him from having the time needed with his client to fight the case.bbb

Apparently, Bobby is not quite yet forgotten in the US of A:

State Department Spokesman Richard Boucher in a press briefing November 3 answered questions on Robert Jenkins and Bobby Fischer:

"QUESTION: All right. And then I'd also like to ask on another case. Presumably, you're all in favor of this, but, you know, Bobby Fischer, who is a chess player whose sole crime appears to have been going to Yugoslavia and winning some -- winning a chess match and taking some of Milosevic's money, you guys want him deported, you've taken away his passport, and I'm just wondering what, you know, what this says. You look at these two cases, both of which involve Japan, and I realize you're going to tell me that they're totally separate cases, and they are, but does it strike you as odd at all that someone who deserts from the Army in the middle of a war is being treated with less -- or with more kid gloves than someone who is a nonviolent chess player?

MR. BOUCHER: Look, neither of these cases is in my hands or in the State Department's hands or anything. It's a matter of judicial authorities; in one case military justice, in another case the Department of Justice. You can check with those people and find if anything strikes them as odd. But in our case, in terms of the State Department, these are not two areas that we are directly responsible for and we're not the people that are supposed to try to explain them or compare or contrast or take any of your notions and assumptions."

And here's the US-Ambassador to Japan, Howard H. Baker, in a press round table November 8:

"QUESTION: I'd like to ask to Americans in Japan, although I did not include this question into my questionnaire but if I may - it's about Sgt. Jenkins and Bobby Fischer. With Sgt. Jenkins, do you think there is any possibility that he does not have to serve his term - I mean his sentence might be stayed? And about Bobby Fischer, I simply want to know what kind of fate is going to wait for him?

AMBASSADOR BAKER: O.K. On Jenkins, it's a difficult issue, an emotional issue and a controversial issue. But I believe that the result that was finally obtained and the plea that was negotiated between the American military court and Jenkins was entirely appropriate and I congratulate all those involved for reaching a good result. There are some who say that thirty days in jail is not enough, there are some who say that it should be suspended. Fortunately, I don't have to decide those things. That's up to the military tribunal to decide. But I personally think it was a good result. I think that the cornerstone of that agreement was that Jenkins, no matter how bad his conduct was, had suffered enough living in North Korea, and in deference to that and to his Japanese wife, that some level of compassion and understanding had to be taken account of, and I think it was. I think that is what produced the result that you see. I don't know where Jenkins is going. I don't know whether he will serve his thirty days or not but I think it was a good result.

QUESTION: Bobby Fischer?

AMBASSADOR BAKER: Bobby Fischer, I don't know anything about, except that he is out at Narita. It is my understanding that he has been denied entry into Japan on his U.S. passport because of his proceedings in the United States many years ago. I think he has other options. I think that he may litigate, he may travel under a different passport, but I've told you all I know, probably plus just a little bit too much. But I don't know what will happen to Bobby Fischer."
