Romantic date for my girlfriend and I - Any suggestions?

Postby ibiza » Tue Nov 16, 2004 12:42 am

Does anyone know of a good weekend get-away spot in Tokyo or Norther Honshu for couples? My friend and I are looking for somewhere to take our girlfriends. The girls want to go to Disney Land, but we're not too keen on that.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Jeez Rob, you went to Nikko, and you went to a theme park instead of the Nikko Toshogu site? A friend took me up to Nikko and he wanted to go to Edomura, a phony theme park that cost about 7000Y to enter, I got really mad and said let's get the fuck out of here and go to the REAL Nikko site. So we did. And it was awesome.

Dinner, dacing & a weekends stay in Sakuragicho at the Landmark Hotel. Nothing beats the view.

Of course, it costs a couple bucks more than your usual place...

And you need a tux...

And she needs an evening-gown...

And they are booked up 4 months in advance...

But hey, it's a great place!

Try the Metropolis 'And Others' section.

Iibiza-san, if you don't take Steve-san's very wise advice, at least remember it, for one day you may understand its wisdom.

Disney Sea is slightly more tollerable than Disney land.

But remember a part of the entrance fee for disney land a small percentage goes to killing innocent people in Iraq. Do you or your girlfriend want that on your consionce? even 12 US cent is enough to buy a bullet, that could of killed somebody.

Not a very romantic place to go.

Hey! Edomura rocks! When they do the Ninja shows, I get hormone surges!

But then again, I live 30 minutes from Nikko and can go any old time.

Fukushima is well nice, because you got mountains and sea. If you're into hiking, I know a good and cheap pension I can recommend. The owners are a young couple who speak fluent English. If you want more info, pm me...

Hope you have a good time, but don't go to disneyland. Way lame. :D

Girls love Disney. If you give girls what they want, they give you something in return. Perhaps it'll be something you love. 8)

Take the girls to Disney.

It really really sucked. My friend had his parents in tow, they came over for a visit. They hated everything about Japan, especially the food, I thought they were going to puke when we bought some greasy yakitori. His parents kept running ahead saying "hey it's the ninja house," thinking it was the ninja show. So we had to go chase after them through those dopey slanting, disorienting buildings. And I have no sense of balance due to a bad ear, so after that, I thought I was going to puke. We never did get to see the ninja show.
Oh.. there was one instructive moment. A woman with a couple of little kids in tow came up to me and shyly asked, "oueiya arru iu furomu?" And I shot back "amerika kara mairimashita." My FG friend got mad at me, he said I should answer in English because I was spoiling her fun. Sheesh.

Anyway, don't waste your money on fake Japanese historical attractions when the real thing is just a couple miles up the road.

I second that. Take the girls where they want to go this time... and when Disneyland doesn't play out as cool as they thought (think 1~2hr waits), you can suggest a second date to Zushi, Chigasaki, Enoshima, etc...

Thanks guys.

Looks like we'll be going to Disney Land after all. The girls really want to go, so we're going to give it to them. (over and over again, hehe).

It shouldn't be too bad. If it gets boring, we can always leave and head somewhere else.

Disneyland isn`t so bad, just don:t get trapped in the "its a small world ride".

If you go to Disney Sea, make sure you go after 6. It`s half priced, and all the nice light shows and everything are much better in the dark, also no waiting in lines and the fireworks at the end are always a big hit with the girls.(was just there this week). Plus it`s set more as a just wander around and "amaze" at how they set things up. Only like 5 rides in the entire place (not including the Steamboats that just take you from section to section). The "Journey to the center of the Earth" was the best ride, and that was just for the surprise ending.

Isn't twelve cents per bullet is too low?The M-16's 223 ammunition is $190 to $300 USD for 1,000 rounds (0.19 to 0.30 USD per bullet). A bare-bones standard rifle package with extra 4 magazines and a case of ammunition can run you $660 to $1,700 with an average price of $825 (excluding the exotic scopes and electronics being used in Iraq).

As far as a boycot of US goods, the price of shares of high profile, iconic US companies like Coke and Nike has been dropping since the war started. Hmmm.

I don't know how, but she got some kind of package that includes shinkansen tickets, entrance tickets, and a hotel room for the night: 29,000 yen. Not to shabby.

Bah, he should be getting her to take him on a date.

I wouldn't bother if she finds the date boring.... if she gets bored it's a good sign that she's done the dating thing a bazillion times before anyway with a whole pile of random guys. Put two and two together and you'll find yourself asking why none of those dates hit it off, and why she's back on the dating circuit.

Disneyland? Just avoid the parades....
Dream on.... dream on and on, dream on and on.... Dream on.... dream on and on, dream on and on....Dream on.... dream on and on, dream on and on....Dream on.... dream on and on, dream on and on....Dream on.... dream on and on, dream on and on.... DISNEY ON PARADE.
(excuse me while I throw up) :puke:

(.19 cents per bullet).

Wow! Great news. For that much, you can shoot about 63 more innocent Iraqis for the same price! Mickey Mouse, hang your head in shame.

Oops I typed it wrong. It's 19 cents or $0.19 USD to shoot Bush which of course is no good at all. No, no, very bad.

Romance in Japan?

Postby DrP » Wed Nov 17, 2004 3:36 pm

My suggestion -- ditch her and go to China or Thailand. For the price of a full on Disneyland date you can make your own dreams cum true in the landz of smiles!
