Second-hand shop worker, friend kill coworker

SAITAMA -- A part-time worker at a second-hand shop in Kasukabe, Saitama Prefecture, and his friend were arrested Friday for murdering a coworker and injuring two others, police said.

Yesterday I saw someone throw a cigarette butt on the ground when there was an ashtray five feet away. Yup, this place is a wretched hive of scum and villainy all right.

Things are going well, but recently I hit a snag because one of my profs (actually not Japanese, but Hungarian who has lived here for a long time) had a serious problem with my very conversational and sometimes sarcastic classroom behavior. She is sarcastic as hell as well, but she's the sensei, she gets to act that way, I don't. I have made several friends of the students, but a lot of them I don't see often because this school has two campuses and all their classes are on the other one from me.

Oh, and today as I was waiting do take care of something at the student affairs office, the (Japanese) person in front of me was very irate about something to do with his credit transfer, it looked for a while like he would start using nasty language. Oh, the horror!
