Hey its no harm if you tell me, it's quite sad how many stories I have heard from Japanese friends who only saw their father a few hours a week growing up.

I went out to dinner with a few salaryman last week, friends of a friend. They told me how they quit their previous jobs in the MOFA because of the long hours. When I asked them what they spend their time now doing, they said mainly drinking with colleagues after work. They said they maybe see their kinds for half an hour at night, and I'm guessing they're steamed by then anyway. Is it any wonder Japanese kids grow up strange and maladjusted with no male fingure in their lives, might explain all those rainbow clubs I see in Shibuya

In another development, househusband has become a term officially used by the National Police Agency, albeit euphemistically.

The NPA has defined male shufu as "unemployed persons who help in housekeeping" and started using the term in the occupation section of statistics for people committing suicide.

I am just waiting for the headline 'Househusband murders five subway station attack'
