Perhaps you've never heard of Nishi-Kawaguchi. Across the Arakawa River two stops north of Akabane on the JR Keihin-Tohoku line, the bed town of Kawaguchi, Saitama Prefecture, has long been known for its thriving neon districts (there are several on opposite sides of the tracks) featuring sleazy soaplands and "pink salons" by the dozens.

I used to live around there years ago, in the dreaded Dream House, and there was no shortage of friendly, chatty salariman types hanging around the station....For a long time after living there i though all Japanese guys asked if you were married/had a boyfriend as one of their first three questions, like as a standard question.

It is from a really old English drinking song - ie when you are in a pub. It really means nothing except that everybody knows it and sings it when they are drunk, raucous and silly... English pubs have a culture all their own..

I was just being facetious due to my relatively tame plans for a Saturday night.... actually I did have fun and met some interesting people...
