Attention Charles and Bongo

The Ghost of AssKissinger wrote:Although I know it's really not my place to say this, I just wanted to take the time to say thank you to both of you guys for the good stuff you've been contributing to the board. I know, I've had slight disagreements with both of you in the past but recently I got to say I've been enjoying both of your posts very much.

Charles, your long term insights into Japan are really useful and informative. I've been enjoying reading your posts more and more recently.

Bongo, you always seem up on the latest news. You're the kind of poster that really enriches the site with good information as to what's really going on in Japan.

Thanks guys.

I guess the saying "I'll be mellow when I'm dead" really is true. RIP, AK.

Yes, I think Charles and Bongo should do some investigative reporting on the Tokyo Fashion Conspiracy aka "gross national cool."

I appreciate the kind remarks, but you might change your opinion after you read my next post..

You guys were the ones that drew me here, I only learned about this board because someone linked to a video on my blog. I found FG in my referrer log, checked it out and signed up, but didn't start posting until recently. I suppose I really should put all this effort into my OWN blog, but nobody reads it, I get a much bigger audience here (maybe even as many as 5 people).

I'm surprised that anyone finds my posts that useful, I mean, I'm in Iowa now, and my in-country time is astonishingly short compared to most FG. If I manage to have any insight, it's from my years of college studies preparing for those all-too-short stays in Japan, so perhaps I observed things more keenly than others.

Anyway, don't worry about flames and disagreements, I don't even bother to keep track of who I'm arguing with, unless you are so repeatedly, monomaniacally stupid that you force me to remember your name (only happened around here once so far, and it isn't you). Tomorrow is always another day.

Find me a way to cover my travel expenses, and I'll write you a whole book.

I once wrote a rather controversial article that asserted that Japan has such a scarcity of natural resources that eventually nihonjin will have nothing left to sell except their own self-image. Ooh you should have heard the flames about that one. I'll have to dig it up.

And it's interesting that AK's medication needs have apparently continued into the afterlife.
