great board you have here. I found out about this board through a coworker on my first day at work and have been lurking for about 6 months now.

Ive been very busy in the 6 months that Ive been here (living in the tokyo area, asakusa to be specific) and havent had much aimless wandering time.

There are and they are easy to find. Most read light districts there are actualy information boxes available. They are usualy run by a Yack but the Yacks that I have talked too are very friendly and can speak a little english. They will even give you discounts and tell you were to go that welcome Gaijin. I know a few places myself that are Gaijin friendly, but you can do your own ground work.
To tell you the truth if you dont really care, often if you just walk around the kabukicho at 6pm girls will approach you. Becareful of teh young ones, because they are not whores, usualy they are girls escaping from home they are not looking to go to a hotel they want to live with you.

I hate scanning stuff. Have a *lot* of 35mm slide film that I really should scan, but it is *so* time consuming to do it well. Sigh.

I use Canon gear. EOS 20D and a selection of lenses. Before that I had a EOS 3 and a D60. Have completely left the film world now though -- sold my EOS 3 after not touching it for over a year.
