Ignorance is bliss on the internet

Movies, TV, music, anime other random J-pop culture phenomenons. Also film/video production, technical discussion, cast and crew calls, etc.

I shouldn' say allied. They (obviously) were not a united people at that time.

The postoffice had some $.10 General Stillwell stamps so I stocked up. Used em for New Years cards this year to my Japanese friends. I doubt they'll notice or even get who he was.

He was known for calling the bald Chang Kai-shek "The Peanut." No wonder he was reassigned...

The feeling was mutual, although if it wasn't for Chang's wife, I believe Mao would have received support from the U.S.

Ahh, I loved to use those "Vinegar Joe" stampstoo. Stillwell was a real character.... He served in China between the two World Wars and became fluent in the Chinese language before he was named chief of staff to Generalissimo Chiang Kai-shek in 1942.

BTW: Even more fun than "Vinegar Joe" stamps I've used the Classic American Aircraftstamp series for my Christmas cards.

Ahh, so somebody did notice.
All the Classic American Aircraft stamps are real except the Enola Gay stamp.

How can you help?
Contact your Senators and Representatives, tell them you wish you have to have a stamp issued dedicated to the B-29 Superfortress.
The B-29 Superfortress was more than just the aircraft that dropped the Atomic Bomb....more...

Other gr-r-r-reat stamps for sending greeting cards....
