Newbie here to this board, but not to Japan. I've seen this board a few times, but just finally got around to posting because I guess I'm burnt out from all the same old hash on the other forums about Japan.....Hope this place is different.

Sorry, don't really like anime that much, and I can't stand Tsunku produced j-crap errrr...I mean J-pop. I'm more into hiking and drinking.

Hi!

Postby Engel_der_Nacht » Sun Nov 28, 2004 7:08 am

Hi all, erm I found this site after a forum I am a member of was complaining about it lol. I fought this place looked cool, since its so different to normal forums about Japan.

Erm, what can I say about myself. I'm 17, (18 on the 6th of December :) ) I live in London England and currently am at College where I study German, History, Maths and General Studies. I've applied to Uni to study either German and Japanese or Korean and Japanese and I would love to one day be able to live in Japan. My personality is extreme, usually extreme happiness and hyperness or extreme sadness, and I can't spell to save my life, just so you know.

Well, I can't say that I'm fucked gaijin, as I currently live in the U.S., but I hope to be most brutally raped for a full year sometime during my college years. So far I've taken two semesters of college Japanese, but I ended up failing second semester because of lack of attendance (don't ask). However, when I took the placement test I was allowed to enter second year anyway. Still planning to retake second semester for G.PA. purposes.
Anyways, I'm planning on majoring in Asian Languages and Literatures with a concentration in Japanese, as the University of Minnesota doesn't have a Japanese major. (I'm also planning on a linguistics major and computer science minor.)

Hello friends and fellow fucked Gaijin, greeting from Sado.

I have just moved to this little island off the coast of Nigata with my wife and two daughters.

There's no much happening here, except a lot of reporters outside my house.

I'm hope you'll have time to read about my adventures in my blog from time to time. I call it 'Kimchee memories'

My interests are anime (of course), cosplay (especially military uniforms) and language study (I'm pretty good at Korean)

Well that's it. I think I'll like this forum because *everybody* I meet tells me:

'boy oh boy Jenkins san are you fucked or what'

No need to apologize. A lot of the members who have lived in Japan a long time will goodnaturedly tease us newbies, but don't let it bother you.

As long as you aren't all ZOMG! DBZ TOTALLY F***KIN RULES!! You'll be fine.

Check yo' bad self!!! :D

Hows everyone doin'?
I'm off to Kanto in Feb to teach english for a year and found this place when I was looking for info about, well anything really!

If anyone has any advice to dispense with regard to the way I should be acting towards the women over there I'd be grateful. Will I have to change my highly successful cheeky, charming and highly-sexed ways?

Also any other info about anything in particular would be cool.

Laters, Adz...

Introduction, suction, plucktion, whatthefucktion.....

Postby evilpongi » Mon Dec 27, 2004 9:35 pm

I don't need no stickin' pickin' frickin' introduction. I need this dang board like a need an ambulance to the emergency room! But anyway, just so no one will ever forget:

MY NAME IS EVIL! THE WORLD IS EVIL AND THE WORLD IS MINE! THE WORLD IS MINE!

Don't forget that people! Let's get some stripe in here. Friggin' foreign lovers. Get it through your thick heads once and for all. That's a name to remember, a name to fear and and a name to respect:

hello

Postby james » Mon Dec 27, 2004 10:40 pm

i've tried so many times to post to this thread and finally, it works. not sure what was up but it was always timing out on me. as does the chat.

anyway, my name is james and i've been living in shimane, in a small town of about 8,000 (mostly obaachans) with my wife and two sons. i've been here for about 6 years now and figure i'm in for at least another twelve. we'll probably move back to canada (ottawa) when my sons reach junior high school since i've seen what a spectacular system it is..

as for what i do, i teach english in my own school, mostly to elementary school aged children and have a part-time job doing IT related stuff on the side. anyone who's bored and wants to check out my seriously outdated web pages can go to: http://www.folkwolf.net/~james

my personal hobbies are gardening, 8-bit computers, breaking and fixing computers and a little astronomy.

anyone here in the chuugoku (shimane, tottori, hiroshima) region?

Yep, I suppose I need to introduvce my self as well. I am Melissa and live in Sacramento California. Been back in the US since 95. LONG TIME.

Graduated from Yokota HS in Japan. Graduate College at Sac State. Lived in Japan for a total of 18 years of my life. Speak fluent Japanese. Writing? Not so great at the writing.

Worked for a J company right out of college....spent close to 8 years with them. Worked in Tokyo (akasaka mistuke), Los Angeles, Chicago, NY and Sacto. Moved around a bit. Lived in Mlayasia for a short time and liked it too.

Today, I am in Sacto and work for a different J Company...IT related. I commute twice a week to Santa Clara. People think I am crazy, but nothing like it was in Tokyo during rush hour. I remember having to hold my brief case in front of me and tote bag covering my butt in hopes to prevent a purv to touch me LOLOLOL But those were the days. Learned to say CHIKAN very well.

Anyway. love this site. The creators, FG GOD's, did an awesome job. The veterans here are cool and the topics are amazing.

Hello there folks,

Hello, my name is Michael Christian. I'm an highschool student in America, I've been studying Japanese on my own and with friends I've met on line for over a year. Though I study my hardest, I am still a novice and have a lot to learn. I hope to make many new friends and have opportunities to practice my language skills.
Nice to meet all of you
Anyone can talk about reflection, but he cannot master it if he does not know what the word means. What has to be changed by reflection is the self-conscious heart, which has to direct itself toward that point where the formative spirit is not yet manifest. Within our 6 ft. body, we must strive for the form which existed before the laying down of Heaven and earth. If today people sit and meditate only one or two hours, looking only at their own egos, and call it contemplation, how can anything come of it?
