Pit bulls' fury shown on tapes

Images of pit bulls tearing into each other flashed across video screens Tuesday in a federal courtroom in Pittsburgh, where a Virginia man became the first person to stand trial under a 1999 law prohibiting the sale of videotapes depicting animal cruelty.
Undercover agents with the Pennsylvania State Police and the U.S. Department of Agriculture allegedly bought three videotapes by mail order in 2003 from Robert Stevens, 61, of Pittsville, Va.
The first two videotapes, titled "Pick-A-Winna" and "Japan Pit Fights," show a montage of pit bull fights, the dogs twisting, driving and clamping down on each other's necks and ears. The third, titled "Catch Dogs," shows pit bulls attacking hogs.......more....
