I don't know... I thought that the Japanese were sensitive to being called Jap. Japaga? Japaguy? Then are we Fuga (FUcked GAijin)? IS Ultra a Mother Fuga?

Maybe she's intentionally creative... hard to tell... but I like her (accidental?) spin on twentyfirst. "Twentyfast century" is brilliance.

Most Japanese people in Japan aren't sensitive to that. It's the Nikkei living in the West that don't like it.

orth Korea's deputy UN ambassador Kim Chang-guk has repeatedly referred to the Japanese as "Japs".

"The Japs are now turning the whole society to the right to resurrect militarism and fascism with a view to reinvade North Korea," he told the General Assembly.

Japan brutally annexed Korea from 1910 to 1945.

Mr Kim said he had decided to use "Japs" in retaliation for a Japanese diplomat calling his country North Korea, rather than its official name of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

Japan's deputy ambassador, Yoshiyuki Motomurea, said "Japs" was derogatory. He said the use of "North Korea" was a geographical concept, and not intended as a derogatory term.

OK... so it was North Korea... but still it drew a rebuke from General Assembly President Julian Hunte. Shortening Japanese to Japs is derogatory and along the same lines as Nips and Chinks. Heck... even Canuck was somewhat derogatory... just like Nigger. Canada took it with pride and it lost it's meaning. So until there is an expansion team called the JR Japs (or some other sponsor would be fine) the term will be derogatory.

History of the word "canuck"
