Takushoku University, anyone got the lowdown?

So, I've enrolled at the Takushoku University in Tokyo. April 1st I will be starting their Intensive Japanese Language Program for Overseas Students (IJLP), duration will be a year. Once I'm done I intend to live in Tokyo for about 15 months (learning more japanese, culture and so on).

My question to ya'll; does anyone here have any experience with Takushoku...does anyone go there, know someone who goes/went there. What is the general japanese/FG perception of the university?

Any information would be appriciated.

I used to be a member of the Takushoku Karate Club before it was forced to close down because they killed too many members who wanted to quit (spoilsports)

From memory, wasn't the rugby team very good at gang-raping little girls in karaoke bokes, too?

Yep, those Taka U. clubs were a real toot.

From the Dojo we used to watch the oendan newbies being made to stand outside in the middle of summer barefoot on a metal plate to see if they flinched.

One wrong twitch and it was a baseball bat pounding until senseless or dead. At least the Karate guys did it quick and clean

I will be going to the Bunkyo campus.

I don't think I fall into the "brainless twit with rich parents" category. I've worked hard saving up money for this trip (as I'm paying for the whole thing out of my own pocket) - and don't intend to goof around . My main concern, as you also put it, is the risk of being "quarantined with the other gaijin and will be very lucky to converse with any other Japanese besides teaching staff on campus." I have traveled alot all my life, lived in several countries and as far as I see it, the only real way to learn a new language is to mingle with the population and speak the language at an everyday level.

The reason for my initial post, is that I am not sure I have made the right choice - the only refferance I have so far is the school's website and my (extremely polite and kind) contact at the school.

Would you say that I am in good hands at this school, that the quality is up to par compared to other Tokyo schools?

you guys have been writing on while i've been working on my reply...since english is my fifth language it sometimes takes me a while to find the right words to use.

but trust me...no one is going to have the pleasure of having me stand on anything even close to a metal plate...and I realy hate it when people try to gang-rape my while I'm working on my singing, it realy does do wonders for my higher pithces thou.
