...the project, which is part of a larger "Ubiquitous Robot Companion" initiative, is being spearheaded by the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), which also plans to put 100 domestic robots into houses in the next couple of year...

Korea says Japan dumps industrial robots

SEOUL - The Korea Trade Commission (KTC) issued a preliminary ruling Wednesday that robots from Japanese industrial robot manufacturers are being dumped at unfair prices.

The commission under the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy also asked the Finance Ministry to levy provisional anti-dumping duties on those products until ongoing investigations are concluded.

Under the preliminary ruling, robot imports from Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd, Nachi Robotics, Yaskawa Electric Corp and Fanuc Ltd will face antidumping duties equivalent to the dumping margins ranging from 8.76% to 19.48%....the rest...
