Rengo is addressing the problem that many firms now employ people on part-time contracts to do jobs that they previously required full-time employees. Often, the individual is the same but their contract status has been changed. Part-timers have fewer employment rights and are cheaper so it is a straightforward cost-cutting exercise. Rengo wants to strengthen protection for part-timers who are asked to do the work of a full-timer. The same issue has arisen in the UK.

In Japan, "part-time" work is a scam. That is, women who have worked for companies for years for 6.75 hours a day are labeled "part-o" since they don't work a full 35+ hours. Likewise younger people are labeled "arubaito" and "freeter" workers and are hired to do the same work for a fraction the regular wages so slimy salarymen like me can sleep and post on the FG Forum. :roll:

Dude, it's his fucking sig. People have all kinds of (stupid, intelligent, funny, etc.) shit in their sigs. It's not like he's making Democrat bashing polital posts all the time. That would be different.

Every post he makes is Democrat bashing...'cause it is in his sig. And that's the problem.

I'm not from the US, I don't give a flying fuck about the friction between the US political parties. I just feel that if Pen wants to make political statements he should do it in the forum created especially for that purpose.

The funny part is I wouldn't even have noticed the sig if you hadn't pointed it out and made an issue of it.

With some ups and downs. I think the situation in the U.S. under both Roosevelt administrations (Theodore and Franklin) improved for workers. Wasn't TR the first American president to use the military in support of strikers?

Damn well said! There are places that are just not worth working for, no matter what the pay is.

That's why it's always important to have "fuck you" money in the bank. What's "fuck you" money? That's money set aside (6 months salary or more is good) so you can walk away from a job if things go to hell and you just can't stand it anymore. Life is a lot better when you know you could say "fuck you!" and leave any time you wanted.

I can agree with that. But why have you got yourself in such a confrontational situation with your employees? It sounds like they feel threatened by you. Take more time to sell them into your company when you employ them and those problems will decrease.
