N Korea to resume missile testing

Postby den4 » Wed Nov 06, 2002 5:57 am

N Korea may resume missile tests if talks with Japan skid

Y'know, somebody needs to take away the toys from these spoiled rotten kids that keep whining and lying and hiding and cheating on rules that they agreed to....slap them all upside their heads silly....
Yes, they may have a few points that they could get some apologies for that Japan had done to them, but it offers no excuse to hold secret nuclear testing and development, sabotaging their neighbor's industries, executions of foreigners, kidnapping, etc. etc. and then cry about it when things don't go in their favor....sure other nations have done the same thing, but when they are caught, at least they face the music and resolve the problems, usually through some form of conflict, but the issues are resolved...and there are compromises.....
just seems to me that the N. Korean gov. has done such an excellent job insulating their country from the outside world, that they are now unable to deal with the outside under any terms....

and so, they need to have their toys taken away before they really hurt some bodies on a major scale..... :O

At least if they want to take on the world, then why not be bold like ol' Saddam and be a man about it, rather than hiding behind an iron curtain and whine all the time, the cowards......(of course, I guess Saddam does hide behind his double, so maybe that is cowardice, too? Or just a devious mind at work)
Don't care for Saddam, but at least he's not afraid to gather up the legions of muslim extremists to his cause.....I don't think N. Korea has anybody out there that supports their cause....no support from the current russia, and support from China seems dubious at best.....

maybe I'm babbling.....just curious what you others on this forum think..... :o

North Korea is still a client state of Russia and of China. Didn't you see Putin and Kim hugging in Russia?

North Korea's position as a buffer zone for China makes it almost impossible to destroy North Korea's nuclear capacity without serious complications for Sino-American relations.

I`ve been wondering, why is it that the US always thinks that taking out the leader will solve the problem? That hasn`t worked since Hitler.

Because it always makes good copy to have the good guy (the prez) and the bad guy (Saddam, Gadhafi, Kim, Osama the list goes on) - just like in the movies. You know the last scene where the good guy comes face to face with his nemesis and of course good triumphs over evil.

The last 50 years have shown this is the successful movie formula and as politics and entertainment are not that far apart (eg in the movie "Wag the Dog") it is no small wonder why the same formulas is applied to foreign policies. The leaders do not do anything without thinking how it will look to the armchair politians.

But I am not cynical of our great leaders at all... really they are doing such a bang up job.. or should I say blow up job. But where does this responsibility lie - with the news networks, the politians, the PR guys, or the audience in their lounge rooms who will go to the polls every november.

I don't know.. It seems like terminating one dictator is better than killing one thousand civilians. Sometimes just one person can be more than just a leader, but also an ideology. Take them out, and the ideology possibly goes with it.. Or creates a power vaccum and leaves utter kaos.. I prefer udder kaos

Why am I thinking about this? Must work...

I agree it`s simpler to take out one guy and looks good on tv. However, it doesn`t solve the problem. The US is really good at toppling governments but sucks at nation building. That`s how Afghanistan fell to the Taliban. After the Soviet war they said `see ya`.

I know, after they take care of Saddam, they should install Rob Pongi to rule Iraq. :D

Oh that would not be good... can you imagine 3-story photographs of Rob Pongi adorning buildings in Bagdad? 8O
