Speaking of nurses... Sorry to hear about you busting your ankle Taro.
Don't worry though, you'll be healed and well in no time. I've taken the liberty of hiring you a private nurse. She has an excellent bedside manner.

You'll be up and posting again in no time.

So far so good (check your PMs for details), and I'm going to check in with Mrs. Taro later today to make sure the timing is OK. We don't want to interrupt Taro during his sponge bath!

Anybody else who's interested in the trip, please PM me.

I have been waiting for some kind of K-tei message

Postby canman » Thu Feb 17, 2005 4:16 pm

I thought for sure that Taro would be using his K-tei to connect with people. I read that hospitals are now allowing patients to keep and use their phones. Too many people were going through withdrawl type sympotms without their phones.

Thursday Taro Update

Postby omae mona » Thu Feb 17, 2005 5:54 pm

Hey, all, I finally got to speak to Mrs. Taro again. Taro's feeling fine, but as we all guessed, bored out of his mind. They're going to operate on Friday to patch up the damage, and it sounds like he'll be imprisoned there for about another week and a half past that.

So far we have a big group going to try to bust him out on Saturday (and if that fails, at least to say hello to him). If anybody else wants to join & hasn't been getting PMs from me, just drop me a note.

Luck and a speedy recovery to you Taro. A blessing that you had a phone to hand and a curse that life has given you so much pain you can laugh at a broken ankle.

Glad no one up there decided to take you from our lives just yet.

Lookin forward to your posting again soon and cursing the fact I can't do anything for you other than words.

Although I guess I could try and get some black and white upskirts on campus before you get back :D

Ok. I called, but the group is being watched by evil Japanese nurses.
I left a message on Omae Mona's phone. It seems he recorded a greeting explaining what was going on so I didn't get to speak TO Taro, but I left a message. Sort of rambling message since I'm not fully lucid at the moment. But we're all pulling for Taro, so I'm sure he'll understand the sentiment.

So how was Taro? Hope the visit raised his spirts!

Any news on when he'll be out of the hospital?

Taro is OK. He has a bit of a fever and his leg looks like it's been 17 rounds with Mike Tyson but by the time we left he was in good spirits and well stocked with books, choccies. some illegal fluids, fake boobs and balloons.

He hopes he'll be back on his feet wondering around by Tuesday in the hospital and that he can piggyback off a connection somewhere to post from his laptop.

Aha, so that was you! Sorry we couldn't pick up.. the real problem was the signal was awful inside the hospital so the phone just wasn't working real well. Unfortunately, even when I went outside, I couldn't hear your message very well (were you on a cell phone yourself?), but we told Taro you called anyway. He was happy to hear about his telephone admirers (including Mulboyne and Steve)

Ah, so that was YOU!! I initially guessed it was, but then I thought "no, she's supposed to be in the hospital herself, battling those germs". Gosh, it sounded nasty, but glad to hear you're online instead of imprisoned!

No, I wasn't on a cell phone and I could BARELY hear your message. It was like your away message was being broadcast FROM your keitai from inside the hospital. But I got the gist of what was going on and left a message.

Nah.. my phone has that feature too, but in this case it was legitimate DoCoMo voicemail, hosted from their switch. I think maybe we were having a little trouble with international circuits, AO. Sorry it didn't work out.

that was indeed a short stay :D - I checked in 9 o'clock, the day before I had been busy studying medical nihongo and talked myself out of the hospital until 3 o' clock. my 5 Japanese roommates were as happy as I was, I guess. Never done that before but it was SO much worth it :D FG all day :D
