OMG...is that TRUE?????

Sapporo and Asahi are brewed in Canada and Kirin is brewed in Los Angeles. They definitely taste different but I'm not sure why. They could easily follow the same recipe if they wanted to. Maybe it is the water (That's supposedly what makes the pizza in NYC so good) or maybe they just put some other brand of beer in different bottles and mark it up.

Just went out for Chinese last night for dinner. On each of the table they had a little triangle ad thing for Tsingtao Beer, and on the ad, the put (really big!) :

Imported From Australia

Ahh yes, Australia, home of Tsingtao. :P

edit: removed a joke about australia, at the advice of ichigo.

this chick i know from japan (who i don't like, but that's a different and much longer story) brought back some of my friends green tea flavoured kit-kats. I still don't know what that was about.

Just doesn't sound right.

When I see this thread I think of my inability to find a pint of Murphys when I was in Japan.

I searched far and wide and yet could not find a decent pint...I had to succumb to *gulp* Guinness instead. Developed a slight taste for it but it was business as usual the second I got back to Cork

If any of you are in Ueno then be sure to check out The Warrior Celt - cracking pub, served as my second home while I was there!

I wanted to include the link to the pub but the site seems to have been shut down...

The closest I have is -

Ask for Andy or Fergal, tell them Emmet send you!

I have seen Murphys in Osaka, though alas it is in the widget can form. Beamish is also occasionally available.

Murphys... I haven't had a decent pint since I visited Cork two years ago. :P

If it is a microbrew, you'll never find it. The lack of pasterization means that it will goes bad before it ever arrives here. :(
