Apple + Hello Kitty + Bearbrick= the 6th seal to open soon?

In an interesting mishmash of various brands, Sanrio has announced the pending release of a limited edition (only 2000 will be available) Hello Kitty ipod mini (new 6 gig model) that comes with a special Hello Kitty Bearbrick ibe@r ipod holder, HK ipod case and three Bearbrick key chains/charms. A mere 39,900 yen.




To me the HK aspect is not surprising (if anything, I'm surprised it's taken this long) but the Bearbrick is....I've really never understood the appeal of Bearbricks but I wasn't under the impression that they particularly appealed to females.
