Filipino women no justice in japan.

Postby blackcat » Sat Feb 26, 2005 7:26 pm

The case of Maricris Sioson - her life, her death, and the inaction of the Japanese government despite medical evidence of homicide - is a tragic illustration of the vulnerability of the tens of thousands of Filipino women working in Japan's entertainment industry.

Tam Tam

Postby Mulboyne » Sun Feb 27, 2005 10:43 am

MDN: Japan's oldest koala dies
Tam Tam, the oldest koala in the country and the last survivor of six marsupials who sparked a koala boom when brought here from Australia more than 20 years ago, has died of old age, Tama Zoo officials said. Tam Tam was 22 years, 1 month old, a phenomenal age for a koala that spent its life in captivity, where the average lifespan is 15 years. "It's longevity worthy of a mention in the Guinness Book of Records," a Tama zookeeper said of Tam Tam, who died peacefully on Friday.
Tam Tam was born in January 1983 at Taronga Park Zoo in Sydney. He was one of six koalas Taronga presented to the Tama Zoo in 1984 to mark the formation of the sister-state relationship between New South Wales and Tokyo. Tam Tam and his fellow koalas sparked a huge boom in popularity for the Australian animals in the mid-'80s and crowds lined up for hours at a time to see the tree-hugging creatures in the special enclosure made for them. Koalas, including Tam Tam's four offspring, remain a popular attraction at Tama Zoo even today. Tam Tam had been extraordinarily healthy throughout his life, rarely falling ill.

Foreigner gunned down

Postby Captain Japan » Wed Mar 09, 2005 11:15 am

Foreigner gunned down in Roppongi nightclub
Mainichi
A man of Middle Eastern extraction has died overnight from gunshot wounds inflicted in a Roppongi nightclub, police said Wednesday.

The man, whose identity has not been released, was found lying in a pool of blood inside the club just before 5 a.m.

He was rushed to a hospital for treatment, but declared dead shortly after arrival.

Police said the shooting victim looked to be in his early 20s and was of Middle Eastern extraction. He had been shot several times in the abdomen.

An employee of the club where he was found discovered him mortally wounded. Several people were believed to have been inside the club at the time of the shooting.

Further details of the shooting are not yet available. (Mainichi and wire reports, March 9, 2004)

Looks like another case of the Japanese ambulance taxi...

My guess is that he was probably shot much earlier in the night when music was pounding and a silenced gunshot might not be noticed. Especially if he was shot "several times" and found "in a pool of blood". Only a J-doctor can declare him dead so they had to rush him to hospital anyway. Even if his head was separate from his body they would have had to take him to a doctor to have him declared dead.

My favorite Salsa place in Japan. Great ambient, friendly people, good drinks and foods. Salsa parties are only on Saturdays (19h-24h). Somehow Mojito is cheap (600yen) but only few mint leaves...

Thai man without passport dies in police detention cell

FUKAYA, Saitama -- A Thai man died after falling unconscious in a detention cell at a police station here where he was being detained for failing to carry his passport, police officials said.

Police are poised to conduct an autopsy on his body in a bid to determine the cause of his death.

At around 8:35 a.m. on Friday, an officer found the 40-year-old man, who claimed to be a Thai national, slumped in his detention cell at Fukaya Police Station, investigators said. He was rushed to hospital where he died shortly afterwards without regaining consciousness.

Officers had used a rope and handcuffs to restrain him in the predawn hours of Friday after he screamed and hit his head against the wall and a metal grill covering the window. The officers freed him from the restraint at around 7:15 p.m.

Police said they are unsure of whether there are any links between his death and restraints put on his body. (Mainichi Shimbun, Japan, March 26, 2005)

Now for the updated no BULLSHIT version

Thai man without papers murdered by wannabe Nazi Japanese pigs in police torture chamber

FUKAYA, Saitama -- A Thai man died after falling unconscious in a torture chamber at a police station here where he was being beaten and tortured by Japanese Nazi wannabe pigs for failing to carry his papers.

Police are poised to conduct an autopsy on his body in a bid to cover up the cause of his death.

At around 8:35 a.m. on Friday, a violent Japanese fascist pig found the 40-year-old man, who claimed to be a Thai national, slumped in his torture chamber at Fukaya Death Camp, investigators said. He was slowly taken to a hospital after it was certain he had been beaten to death.

The cowardly neo fascist Japanese pigs had used a rope and handcuffs to restrain him in the predawn hours of Friday while he screamed and they hit his head against the wall and a metal grill covering the window. The officers freed him from the restraint at around 7:15 p.m because you you can only murder a man once.

The Japanese wannabe Nazi fucks said they are unsure of whether there are any links between his death and restraints put on his body. But they are sure that the restraints made it much easier to bash the poor guys brains in. (Mainichi "No BULLSHIT"Shimbun, Japan, March 26, 2005)

I'd guess he was out without any ID -- no passport, no gaijin card. Maybe he had a wallet but no gaijin card in it.

Shitty way to die though.

As part of a long-term renovation plan, the Tokyo metropolitan government is quietly taking steps to regain control over the land in the cemetery's Foreign Section.

Many old tombs in Tokyo's Aoyama Cemetery-including those of noted foreigners from the Meiji Era (1868-1912)-will face eviction if no one steps forward by October to pay annual fees that are owed. The Tokyo metropolitan government in fiscal 2004 decided to remove the old bones to make room for benches and green space-with the blessing of Tokyo Governor Shintaro Ishihara.
