Don Quijote say this is the world's first big wheel constructed around a building. Donki website (Japanese) here. 77 metres tall with 32 gondolas that can hold up to four people. Or two fully-equipped firefighters. Open daily from March 17th (10:00am - 2:00am). 1600 yen per person or 1500 yen a head for a group of 4. Entrance on the 3rd floor of the store.

Kippo: Large Ferris wheel opens for business on Dotonbori River
As a site for the state's social experiment, cafeterias and shops can be built in the water zone, and administrative officials and local people concerned are now working out a new rule for water space in order to create the din and bustle of the district.

I can imagine the breathtaking view of downtown Osaka provided by the thing. Building Ferris Wheels is one of the most popular gimmicks department stores in Japan utilize. I have never been able to figure out why. :?

Your time is running out. The ferris wheel operations will be suspended in June. It's been having mechanical problems so it's up to you whether you want to give it a last whirl.
