- 17 months salary (looks like Taro gets 22 though!)
- dirt cheap high-speed Internet
- conbinis everywhere and 24 hour supermarkets (recently)
- availability of electronics (from TVs to cameras to PC parts)
- learning new things every day just through daily life
- summer fireworks shows
