Seicomart is indeed a convinience store chain, trading in Hokkaido (and reportedly also in Tohaku) and are imho way better than Lawsons, son son etc.

Go!Go!7188 are a [once underground, until they appeared on nhk, meh] 3 piece with an eclectic back catalogue, a penchant for the occasional cover and who usually make great pop vids [check out JetNinjin, and the remix track JetNinjin vs Hentai pants]

beer cheaper in auz!!!!! wine is cheap but i nearly died when i went there for a holiday last year and saw the alcohol prices. In the land of pissheads(NZ) you can get a drinkable dozen of beer from 6-8 bucks and a dozen of standard good beer is from 10 bucks. Spirts are damn expensive. a bottle of absolut vodka is bout 40 NZ bucks, and a bottle of bicardi about 50.
Slightly off the thread topic, but interesting none the less. Maybe we shoould make a beer price index -like the bigmac one!

the pervasive obsession with health, and the cigarette vending machines on every corner.
people's curiosity about what foreigners think of japan, but never really expecting you to understand.
hospitality coupled with a healthy dose of unconcealed racism.
the endless contradictions.
the only country where they dont hate americans (yet).
