Asian Airports, No.1!.. not Japan

Postby GuyJean » Thu Mar 24, 2005 8:14 pm

Asian Airports Voted Best in World
http://edition.cnn.com/2005/TRAVEL/03/24/bt.asirport.survey/index.html
When it comes to the airport experience, terminals in Asia are a cut above the rest, according to a recent independent survey of air passengers.

Hong Kong International Airport was named the world's best, second favorite was Seoul's Incheon and Singapore's Changi airport was placed third.

Kuala Lumpur's international airports came in fourth, while the Middle East hub of Dubai was ranked fifth...

The customer satisfaction survey has been dubbed AETRA from a Latin word meaning the upper air. ACI and IATA say that 55 airports have signed up to the survey, which looks at passenger satisfaction at airports and ways to improve it.
Bet Japan didn't sign up. ;)

Japan has made some of the worst airports in Asia, expensive and glossy but terrible service, bad management, corruption and something that might remind you of a 3rd world country

Narita is grim, boring, inconvenient and overpriced. A perfect symbol for Japan. It's such a dump that when the Starbcks opened, it was an improvement.

But the sheeple love it!

Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahh!

When you put Narita next to Kansai, Narait doesn't look like such a dump

What kind of future is there for Japan's debt ridden airports ?

How about Nagoya and Kobe?

Actually, a perusal of other surveys indicate that Narita seems to be part of the group but I couldn't find anything about Kansai. As to where Tokyo ranks, I am sure that you are unlikely to find out since the group is unlikely to want to embarrass its' members.

I've been to a pretty lot of airports in Asia and they all suck. The best airports to get stuck in are in Europe, IMHO.
