WOOFing in Japan

Postby dmar57 » Mon Mar 28, 2005 8:03 am

Hi, me and a friend are seriously considering spending a few months WWOOFing in Japan this summer. Anyone here have any experience doing that or know anyone who's done it? Any helpadvicewarnings would be appreciated. It seems pretty good to me, a nice fairly inexpensive way of spending a decent amount of time in Japan. We intend on spending a few weeks in Tokyo just staying in a hotel or whatever, as a bit of a normal holiday, but for the rest we'll be doing the WWOOFing thing. We're both studying Japanese but we're only at the end of first year so we aren't exactly fluent, will this be a major problem? I've never been to Japan before, but he has, will I be sorta jumping in at the deep end going for this type of thing? Thanks

Looks like you don't need a WWOOF as much as you need a neWROOF.

Ok now I think I might just have to reconsider my plans for the summer, or is self humiliation optional?...

No, they are weird. Posing for a photgraph without someone pulling a peace sign is strange.
