Picture to CD/DVD

Hi gents,

I am from Switzerland and often go to Japan, since my wife is Japanese and we bring the kids to visit their grandparents there.

I have a question regarding photography:

I am an amateur photographer and juste moved to digital. Even if I carray lot of Gigs in memory cards, I'll need to download the pictures to free the cards. I don't have a PC there... and was thinking to transfer the RAW pictures from the card to a DVD, do you have any address where I could do that (Tokyo)? Places like Yodobashi camera, etc... would print my pcitures or transfer to low quality Photo-CD but not just burn the files to a disk.

Finding a store to burn you a DVD might be difficult - most people don't need to make their own DVDs.

This is just an idea, but you could borrow a PC at an Internet cafe or Kinkos and move all you picture data as-is to a small portable hard drive (actually just a laptop hard drive in a little case) like this:

If your Japanese is up to it (or your wife's with you), you could even ask the Yodobashi guys to do something similar - just move the pictures to your portable hard drive.

Like Soc said try Kinkos if you are in a major city. They have card readers and you can hook up a USB hard drive to download, or burn to a CD. Not sure is they have DVD burners yet.
And why you are there you can get your stuff printed.

Get an iPod and the iPod Camera Connector or a Belkin Camera Link. Be sure to check this list to see if your camera is supported by the Camera Connector:

Note that you don't need to buy the top end iPod Photo just to store pics.
