"The Bucket" by Kings of Leon (2004)
I'll be the one to show you the way
You'll be the one to always complain
3 in the morning come a bang bang bang
All out of fags and I just can't wait
Cancel the thing that I said I'd do
I don't feel comfortable talking to you
Unless you got the zipper fixed on my shoe
Then I'll be in the lobby drinking for two

18, balding, star, Golden, Fallen, heart

Look at the shakies
what's with the blush?
fresh off the plane in my fuzzy rush
Everyone's gathered to idolize me
I hate the way you talk, your Japanese scream
It's been too long since i've left the shed
You kick the bucket, I'll swing my legs
Always remember the pact that we made
Too young to die, but old is the grave

I'm gonna show the way

"Japan" by Vertical Horizon

I saw a young man by a telephone
He was sitting alone in the rain
I said, "Hey, young man what you doing here?"
He said, "Sir, I'm going insane"

See I love an American beauty
But nobody here understands
So he looked to the sky with resentment in his eyes
And said, "Lord, why am I in Japan?"
Lord why am I in Japan?

He told me a story about yesterday
How he walked in the search of a friend
But nobody came to his rescue
So he came to his bitter end

He pulled me close and said
"They all stopped and stared
As I walked down the street alone
And nobody knew my name
Nobody knew my name"

I said, "Young man I know where you're going
And young man I know where you've been
But I've been in this land for a lifetime, it seems,
And I'm never to come back again
No, I'm never to come back again

So I turned and I gave him my blessing
And I left him alone in the rain
But I had to just stop and laugh at myself
Still nobody knows my name
Nobody knows my name

"I Love Japan" by Tornado
In the Land of the Rising Sun
On the Road of Eternity
I can see people comes to me
With love and honesty

On the magic lake from the tales
Feelings like I'm dreamin' here
Many years gone behind my eyes
Across the water and hills

I love Japan, Oh Lord I love Japan
I called my heart
In memories again

I love Japan, Oh Lord I love Japan
Whatever done
My love remains the same

Down on the Old Hiroshima Way
Imagine skies-blue are full of pain
Misty morning when I lose and prey
And found my Lady of Grace

Anytime...
In All of my Time...

"Daddy Was A Navy Man" by Kevin Denney

I DON'T KNOW WHY HE LIKED THE WATER
HE'D NEVER SEEN THE OCEAN BEFORE
BUT HE WAS YOUNG AND THIRSTY FOR ADVENTURE
AND OUR COUNTRY WAS AT WAR
THE POSTER IN THE WINDOW
PROMISED A CHANCE TO SEE THE WORLD
AND HE FIGURED THAT HE HAD A SCORE TO SETTLE
FOR THE BOYS THAT DIED AT PEARL

(CHORUS)
HE'S PROUD AND SO AM I
THAT HE WENT AND DID HIS PART
AND I LOVE TO HEAR THE STORIES THAT HE TELLS
OF TYPHOONS, TATTOOS, GEISHA GIRLS
AND BATTLES HE'S BEEN IN
OKINAWA, IWO JIMA, AND SAIPAN
AND FOR THE LONGEST TIME
HE WOULDN'T DRIVE A CAR MADE IN JAPAN
DADDY WAS A NAVY MAN

SAYS IT WAS JUST HIS DUTY
THAT'S WHY HE VOLUNTEERED
AND WHEN YOU'RE SEVENTEEN YEARS OLD
YOU'RE JUST TOO DUMB TO BE SCARED
AND THERE'S A FRIEND HE TALKS ABOUT
HE SAYS HE'LL SEE AGAIN SOMEDAY
'CAUSE YOU KNOW OLD SAILORS NEVER DIE
THEY JUST SAIL AWAY

(REPEAT CHORUS)

MY DADDY WAS A NAVY MAN

"Tokyo Nights" by Krokus

Last night when I was laying in my bed
Had a dream of a flag in white & red
Swiss cross turned into the japan dot
A yellow girl appeared and made me hot

She took me to her place - a Geisha house
There was tea rice-booze & ceremony
I got undressed she had me washed
I felt her body and I was lost

Tokyo nights hot burning lights
Tokyo nights you took my mind away
Made me obsessed by loving fights

Soon I remembered I stayed in a dream
And I could make a try to change the scene
The geisha girl was just too hot for me
I tried to wake up unsuccessfully

And even as the big alarm-clock rang
Outside my window the first blackbird sang
My yellow girlfriend didn't leave my head
Got to stay forever in her bed

Tokyo nights hot burning lights
Tokyo nights you took my mind away
I'm in the spell of your delights

Artist: Jay-Z & R. Kelly f/ Devin the Dude
Album: The Best of Both Worlds
Song: Pussy
Typed by: eddie014@hotmail.com

[Devin the Dude]
Pussy is a whole different aspect of life
Wars don' started from country to country, over they women
Pussy, is one of the most powerful thangs in the world
And a lot of people don't understand how powerful pussy is
Pussy make niggas, blow they brains out, they bitch brains out
Uh, uh, pussy make people do thangs they never would think they'd do

[Chorus: Jay-Z]
The power of the p-u-s-s-y
That's why every motherfucker in the world dress fly
Every baller that can afford it, they cop the best ride
For the power of the p-u-s-s-y, let's have some fun
S-s-y, that's why niggas get they hair cuts, try to dress fly
Every baller that can afford it, he cop the best ride
For the power of the p-u-s-s-y

[Jay-Z]
I know this girl we call her Sweet Cooch Brown
Hands down, mami had the bombest pussy in town
One dip in the girl pool, that's all it took
One sample of the snapple, and ya ass was whupped
Have you buyin' Gucci sandals, matchin' pocket books
Blowin' up her beeper ringin' her phone off the hook
Ball players they spit money, rappers they spit time
All a while they both clamin' that they never spent a dime
Business guys, she would victimize

Have 'em paying rent on condos in the Miami high rise
We ask her, who pussy is this look her right in her eyes
She said this pussy's yours daddy, tell 'em nothin' but lies
They didn't believe it, but they wanted to, needed to
She had the type of body, that you didn't want leavin' you
So they ignored all her flirtin' ways
And put a ring on her finger I'm like, Earth to Dave

[Chorus: Jay-Z]
The power of the p-u-s-s-y
That's why every motherfucker in the world dress fly
Every baller that can afford it, that gotta have the best ride
The power of the p-u-s-s-y
The power of the p-u-s-s-y
That's why niggas get they hair cuts, try to dress fly
Every baller that can afford it, they cop the best ride
For the power of the p-u, I see you

[R. Kelly]
I ain't no rapper, but I'ma say my shit
When it comes down to that motherfuckin' clit, clit, clit
Niggas are sick, sick, sick, turn on you quick, quick, quick
That's why I be givin' mami much, dick, dick, dick
Why chumps be coppin' them furs, and all that
Feining for this pussy, as if y'all was on crack
When it comes to the truth, I can't hold back
Y'all cats that be babysittin', and these broads need to be smacked
It's this nigga named Monroe, that I know from way back
He hit the lotto bought his girl a Cadillac
Now this bitch be creepin' behind this niggas back
He busted her guess what, he still took the bitch back
3 things niggas love, money, pussy, and drugs
Can't get one without the other 'less you soft and in love
Now take it from a player whose done all the above
Niggas it's the lesbian, R&B thug

[Chorus: Jay-Z]
The power of the p-u-s-s-y
That's why every motherfucker in the world dress fly
Every baller that can afford it, that gotta have the best ride
The power of the p-u-s-s-y
The power of the p-u-s-s-y
That's why niggas get they hair cuts, try to dress fly
Every baller that can afford it, they cop the best ride
For the power of the p-u, I see you

[R. Kelly]
Niggas would do anything
For some pussy, hey, hey, hey, oh
See it don't matter who you are
Where ya from, in this life
At some point, you're gonna wanna
Get you some, yes you will, oooo, uuuh

"Um...Okay...Let us see
Three billion dollar to buy your corporation??
You want cash??"

There's no place left for Americans!
They're buying out the WHOLE DAMN WORLD!
ALL I SEE is "MADE IN JAPAN"!
It's MAKING ME SICK!

I really like this one. Clicking the link doesn't reveal the year. I'm guessing it was about 15 years ago though.

Oh do you remember

You think it's swell playing Max's Kansas
you're looking bored and you're acting flash
with nothing in your gut you better

Still oh out on those pills
Oh do the sambo

Four years on you still look the same
I think about time

ya poor little faggot
You're sealed with a kiss
Kiss me

Think it's swell playing in Japan
When everybody knows Japan is a dishpan
you're just a pile of shit

you poor litle faggot
you're sealed with a kiss

Still out out on those pills

You're condemned to eternal bull-shit
You're sealed with a kiss

Ween "The Rainbow"
Many colors in the homo rainbow
Don't be afraid to let your colors shine
Many colors in the homo rainbow
Show me yours. I'm gonna show you mine

If you find a pot of gold
Every little thing is gonna work out fine
In the homo rainbow

Many colors in the homo rainbow
You give me shade from black to yellow
Many colors in the homo rainbow
A warm embrace and a kind-a hello

If you find a pot of gold
Every little thing is gonna work out fine
In the homo rainbow

If you find a pot of gold
Every little thing is gonna work out fine
In the homo rainbow
Every single color, every walk of life
In & out changin, every day and night
From the golden shores of Kansas, to the middle of Japan
reach inside your soul and learn your fellow

There are many colors in the homo rainbow
Don't be afraid to let your colors shine
Don't be ashamed of what God made you

Altered States of America is set to deliver the most ambitious ANb yet. Delivering completely inhuman music with a consummate disregard for it's listener, this 100 track 3" CD instantaneously shatters your nerves and makes a bull's-eye of your mind. Round after round, clip after clip, ANb unloads an arsenal of stupefying guitar work, experimental noise and drum machine-gun blast beats while swarming vocalists hatefully taunt you into the crossfire. DIE AND GET THE FUCK OUT OF THE WAY!!

"Tokyo's on Fire"by W.A.S.P.
Big mondo fun, the land of the rising sun
A monster rising in my eyes
My eyes are red with blood
And I can't see the sun
Come with me and you're gonna die

There ain't nowhere to run
Tokyo's gonna burn
The devil is here in my eyes
And you better run Banzi Itchi-Ban
Cause Tokyo is burning all night

Itchi-Ban of sin I'll be the night time king
Take me to the devil's hole
And let me feel your roar
Your demon alcohol
My monster ain't got no control

There ain't nowhere to run
Tokyo's gonna burn
The devil is here in my eyes
And you better run Banzi Itchi-Ban
Cause Tokyo is burning all night

Tokyo's on fire
Tokyo's on fire
Tokyo's on fire

There ain't nowhere to run
Tokyo's gonna burn
The devil is here in my eyes
And you better run Banzi Itchi-Ban
Cause Tokyo is burning all night

"Acres" by Machine Translations
if i wake up in a car
i will wonder what you are
by the sunday sea
if i wake up on tv
what am i supposed to be
will you let me see,
please

i've gone to heaven again
left my suitcase in the lock
and we lay down
on the clock

if i wake up in japan
will you try to understand
nothing goes to plan
you've been living in the mountain
i've been living in a hole
there's seven kinds of seafood
but you ate my self-control

i've gone to heaven again
left my briefcase in the lock
and we lay down
on the clock

i've gone to heaven again
left my footstep in the sun
and my handshakes like a gun

i've gone to heaven again
left my briefcase in the lock
and we lay down
on the clock

"Sing it Shitface" by Edan

Din effects, spiracle asshole, taking shitty Mc tongues to the frozen flagpole
I farted family functions, landing punches in the face of life
I paid the grand three hundred for my beat machine, my body
I keep it clean, by eating vegetables, while you claim indestructible
I made 'em feel uncomfortable by talking about my hemroids
And now my parakeet's unemployed, I enjoyed watching old men
put pens oil all inside the engines, while eating cookies kept in tin foil
I been spoiled, like an underwear that's been soiled by my opponents
When I assemble my microphone kit, most kids are mere domeless
I wonder what they folks did to make 'em think they flow swift with broken focus
Vocals??? are sung, while my guitar is strung, and inplugged to make the hip hop
Pure it's cents up, sure it's ten bucks to come and see me at a show
But when I stage dive into jello you won't care about the dough
But if you still think my shit is wack, you'll get you're money back
And then you leave the show, running into two men with funny hats
They'll beat the fuck out of you and take your wallet out of your back pocket
After that you swell up in the high sockets, then I'll finish my show and go to
The parking lot to meet the two men, who then put your loot in my pocket
I try jocking myself but that didn't work, after I realised that God was
watching with a hidden smirk, I shit a turd that stunk the house for three weekends
Instead of RnB bitches, I do my hooks with Japanese kids

(Chorus: Japanese Kid Singing)
Careful design helps exorcise noise demons

Cigareets and Saki (Trad.)
Chorus:
cigareets & Saki & wild wild Jo-sans
they'll drive you crazy, they'll drive you insane
cigareets & Saki & wild wild Jo-sans
they'll drive you crazy, they'll drive you insane

now, once I was happy, I had a dear wife
I had enough Yen for to last all my life
I met with a Jo-san, we went on spree
she started me smoking & drinking Saki
(chorus)

I got into bed, then some sleep for to get
she said "no sleep, flyboy, I no tired, yet"
but, I woke the next morning a quarter past 10
I was missing my wallet & 10 thousand Yen
(chorus)

now back in Chitosi, I'm limping about
me & the doctor are sweating it out
he gave me some pills from a jug on the shelf
then he poured out a dozen or two, for himself
(chorus)

Sunrise by Icehouse

On the edge of the bay
A day just like the next
They gather their nets
And face their boats around
Over the rooftops
Hear the hum of wings
In seventeen seconds
The world explodes

And it buries the night a brave new sunrise
With a sweep of the sword, a blood red sunrise

You'll never see the faces
Of the fishermen
But you may see their shadows
Burned against the wall
And in the temple grounds
New bamboo grows again
As if the heat of the flame
Had left no trace at all

And there's a light in the eastern sky ... sunrise
And there's no place a man can hide, the sunrise
Well, it buries the night, a brave new sunrise
With a sweep of the sword, a blood red sunrise

But in the cool of the evening
When the children sleep
The old mountain remembers
And hangs his head in clouds

And there's a light in the eastern sky, yeah, ... sunrise
And there's no place a man can hide, the sunrise
Well, it buries the night, a brave new sunrise
With a sweep of the sword, a blood red ... sunrise

And this old Bon Jovi chestnut, Tokyo Road:

In a time, in a place
In a world, they forgot
Lives the heart of me
A part that just won't die
Just a boy, not a man
Sent to war, in a land
They said we'd fight for their freedom
But I felt like a hired hand

Sometimes I have to find my way
Sometimes I have to get away

[Chorus]
Take me back to Tokyo Road
Take me back to Tokyo Road

Working hard, for a pass
Got the night, make it last
It was a time to remember
All my life I would never forget
In a bar, breathing smoke
Snorting whiskey, drinking coke
It was a time when no one would die
And there wasn't a care

Sometimes I wish it was that way
Cause sometimes I have to get away

[Chorus]

This guy turns me around and he's pointing up the stairs
I found myself in her doorway but there wasn't anybody there
She walked in the room with nothing on but a red light
And with a smile she got so close to me.
She whispered something 'bout midnight
You know I didn't understand a word she said
But it felt so good
She knew that I didn't have any money
But baby I knew she would...

EDITED TO ADD:

Collective Soul - Over Tokyo

Got a photograph of a smile
Taken way back when we could smile
Now this plane will take me
Where I don’t know
Maybe tokyo

’cause there’s no memories over tokyo
And there’s no hurting over tokyo

Got a photograph of some tears
Taken presently with more tears
Now I’ll search for happiness
Where should I go
Maybe tokyo

Attention will this pain go away
My condition oh it’s just not the same

"Koto Girl" by Paul Gilbert, formerly of Mr Big, from the album "Alligator Farm" (2000)

30 second MP3 clip here. The subject is apparently a Cantonese-speaking Shanghai girl who plays the koto.

When she was two
Mama told her what to do
Sit and behave
Don't make a sound now

When she was eight
She had found a different fate
Moving her friends
Up and down now

When the clock had moved some more
She could open any door she pleased

She's a Koto girl
Playing eighteen string guitar
Been around
All the eastern world
She can't leave now, but her dreams still travel far

Now She is grown
Has a life all of her own
Plays all the time
Just to be seen now
I met her here
Drinking cold ASAHI beer
Or could have been
A glass of tsing tao

I walked up and asked her please
She replied hello in cantonese

She's a Koto Girl
Who knows what she wants to be
Been around
All the eastern world
But hopes someday for a life where she is free

Don't go away (I want to be with you)
I tried to say (Come on, let's see it through)
But she's got those
Stars in her eyes
Shanghai, goodbye

Signed a major record deal
Now she plays TV shows in high heels

She's a Koto girl
A dream come true superstar
Been around all the eastern world
But Koto girl wants to climb the billboard charts

She's a Koto girl
Playing eighteen strings guitar
What a sound
Heard around the world this Koto girl (Koto girl) has got her strings
Wrapped around my heart

"Fujiyama Mama" by Wanda Jackson

I've been to Nagasaki, Hiroshima too!
The things I did to them baby, I can do to you!

'Cause I'm a Fujiyama Mama and I'm just about to blow my top!
Fujiyama-yama, Fujiyama!
And when I start you up, there aint nobody gonna make me stop!

I drank a quart of sake, smoked on a pipe!
I chased it with tobbacy and then shoot out the lights!

'Cause I'm a Fujiyama Mama and I'm just about to blow my top!
Fujiyama-yama, Fujiyama!
And when I start you up, there aint nobody gonna make me stop!

Well you can talk about me, say that I'm mean!
I'll blow your head off baby with nitroglycerine!

'Cause I'm a Fujiyama Mama and I'm just about to blow my top!
Fujiyama-yama, Fujiyama!
And when I start you up, there aint nobody gonna make me stop!

Well you can say I'm crazy, so deaf and dumb!
But I can cause destruction just like the atom bomb!

Wayne Coyne's voice has really failed him, hasn't it?

American Analog Set - She's Half
She's half [repeated throughout the song]

And her mom's from Indiana and she
She married an Asian man and they
They brought her from Japan to be
Happily suburban and I
I met her one summer when I was
I was just visiting ten days
Her wrists were island thin but she
She smiled like her Indy kin
And she's half

She's into strictly rich and
Overworked businessmen
She don't remember when
She used to hold my hands
After the Rollerland
After she closed the stand
Now it's supply and demand
And it just comes down to the math
And she's half

And she's half

The Rocket from the Tombs reissue of a collection of their material features "30 Seconds Over Tokyo." But I can't find the lyrics anywhere.

"El Scorcho" by Weezer

Goddamn you half-Japanese girls
Do it to me every time
Oh, the redhead said you shred the cello
And I'm jello, baby
You won't talk, won't look, won't think of me
I'm the epitome of Public Enemy
Why you wanna go and do me like that?
Come down on the street and dance with me

I'm a lot like you so please
Hello, I'm here, I'm waiting
I think I'd be good for you
And you'd be good for me

I asked you to go to the Green Day concert
You said you never heard of them
How cool is that?
So I went to your room and read your diary:
"Watching Grunge leg-drop New-Jack through a press table..."
And then my heart stopped: "Listening to Cio-Cio San
Fall in love all over again."

I'm a lot like you so please
Hello, I'm here, I'm waiting
I think I'd be good for you
And you'd be good for me

How stupid is it? I can't talk about it
I gotta sing about it and make a record of my heart
How stupid is it? Won't you give me a minute
Just come up to me and say hello to my heart
How stupid is it?
For all I know you want me too
And maybe you just don't know what to do
Or maybe you're scared to say: "I'm falling for you"

I wish I could get my head out of the sand
'Cause I think we'd make a good team
And you would keep my fingernails clean
But that's just a stupid dream that I won't realize
'Cause I can't even look in your eyes
Without shakin', and I ain't fakin'
I'll bring home the turkey if you bring home the bacon.

I'm a lot like you so please
Hello, I'm here, I'm waiting
I think I'd be good for you
And you'd be good for me

Unsurprisingly, Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo went on to make an appearance in this thread.

"Tokyo Joe" by Roxy Music" (1977)
My Girl Friday she no square
She like the lotus blossom in her hair
Be-bop records and something new
Sometimes borrowed but she's never blue
Oh no........not Tokyo Joe
Way past midnight - she not home
She cut the ice down the Danger Zone
Water-tight dresses - she don't care
A trifle risqué, a tart, no sir........
Oh no........sounds like Tokyo Joe
Geisha girl show you she adore you
Two oriental eyes implore you
Femme fatale or ingénue?
She very cunning, fiendish clever
Geisha girl suffer many times a fool
Sayonara moon
When all the world's a stage, oh where are you?
Tokyo Rose on the radio
Or Diz 'n Bird puttin' on the moan
Tappin' out telexes to Tupelo
Dear John, doh ray me fah so?
Let's go........call for Tokyo Joe
Walkin' tall down the Danger Zone
She hokey-cokey till the cows come home
Big shot - from the hip - neon cool
Say, when you've been around, what's left to do?
Don't know? Ask Tokyo Joe
So inscrutable her reply
"Ask me no question and me tell you no lie"
GI boys howlin' out for more
VIP's purrin' "Je t'adore"........
Ah so........that's Tokyo Joe

I went back and added some YouTube videos to some of the lyrics where they are available but some of the posts are too long to add more text so I've cut and pasted some to here.

"Big in Japan" by Alphaville (1992)
winter's cityside
crystal bits of snowflakes all around my head and in the wind
I had no illusions
that I'd ever find a glimps of summer's heatwaves in your eyes
you did what you did to me, now it's history I see
here's my comeback on the road again
things will happen while they can
I will wait here for my man tonight, it's easy when your big in japan

when your big in japan, tonight
big in japan, be tight, big in japan where the eastern sea's so blue
big in japan, alright, pay, then I'll sleep by your side
things are easy when you're big in japan, when you're big in japan

neon on my naked skin
passing silhouettes of strange illuminated mannequins
shall I stay here at the zoo
or shall I go and change my point of view for other ugly scenes
you did what you did to me, now it's history I see...
things will happen while they can
I will wait here for my man tonight, it's easy when you're big in japan

"Woman From Tokyo" by Deep Purple (1972)
Fly into the rising sun,
Faces, smiling everyone
Yeah, she is a whole new tradition
I feel it in my heart

Chorus: My woman from Tokyo
She makes me see
My woman from Tokyo
She's so good to me

Talk about her like a Queen
Dancing in a Eastern Dream
Yeah, she makes me feel like a river
That carries me away

Chorus

But I'm at home and I just don't belong ...

So far away from the garden we love
She is what moves in the soul of a dove
Soon I shall see just how black was my night
When we're alone in Her City of light

Rising from the neon gloom
Shining like a crazy moon
Yeah, she turns me on like a fire
I get high

Chorus

Lastly, Daphne & Celeste with "I Love Your Sushi":

Brazilian band Pato Fu with their song "Made in Japan". This is a bit of a cheat because it is sung in Japanese. It was apparently written first in Portuguese and translated by a Japanese teacher.
