I was wondering why is it whenever I receive paper currency in Japan it is never creased, rumpled, defaced or worn as you sometimes get in America?

Any ideas or theories?

It is disrespectful to offer crumpled money, therfore people are careful not to crumple it?

US$ bills have one of the shortest lifespan in the world. US currency is printed on the shittiest paper there is. plus, everywhere else than the US people do realize money actually has value. also, you cannot compare with 1 and 5 dollars bills are they are the equivalent of 100yen coins which, being coins, get less "worn"...

No, they iron it, or they go to the bank and trade it in for newer bills. :idea:
