Quicktime batch scripting of mpeg files

Postby American Oyaji » Fri Apr 08, 2005 9:28 am

I am trying to edit mpeg files.
I used to be able to pasted different mpeg movies together in Quicktime 5, but cant do it in 6. it will only let .mov files to be edited and to get an mpeg into a .mov file it has to be exported.

Does anyone know where I can get a utility or script that can do this without me having to do this by hand?

I seem to recall you're on MacOS X. You need the old shareware application "Rosetta" which will join mpgs in the way you describe, in a nice friendly GUI.

Unfortunately, Rosetta is discontinued and is no longer available for download, even though it still works fine under MacOS X 10.3. Send me a PM with your real email address and I'll send you a copy, you can deal with paying the author as you see fit (it has been reported that if you send him money for the shareware fee, he will refuse to take it).

I am pretty sure Rosetta will run on MacOS 9.

I have some old OS9 script droplets that claim to join mpgs but I can't get em to run in Classic so I have no idea if they work. They're yours if you want em.

Just email them to me if you don't mind.
I appreciate it.
