Using a DBA or 'company nickname' in Japan

Postby Mini_B » Wed Apr 13, 2005 8:32 am

Hi FG's! I recently started a company in Japan (Y.K.) and I would like to operate a section of that company under another name. Would anyone be able to explain, or point me to a website that can explain, what is required to create a DBA in Japan? I'd like to do it myself rather than hiring someone. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I would imagine that it's a matter of registering the DBA at your local houmukyoku (Legal Affairs Office) and having that name listed on your tokibo touhon (company registry). Just go down there and ask--they might have someone available for consultation, but most likely in Japanese.
