hey all

Just wondering where you guys buy your software/hardware at? Do you mail order? If so, from what company? Prices?

also, are any of the UK/US electronic music magazines available anywhere? Im looking for sound on sound, future music, computer music, or electronic musician.

I usually order from audiomidi.com in California. Great prices and they can get stuff here usually in under a week. There are a few products, like Macs, that can`t be shipped overseas. I also sometimes buy from Key Music in Shibuya. Yamaha Shibuya has a good selection, though sometimes pricey, but their sample CDs are good. In Japan, software is often a bit higher than the US but hardware can be cheaper. Also, all of the mags you listed can be bought at Tower Records in Shibuya. But if you are going to be buying them often an overseas subscription is cheaper. SOS has an online subscription that lets you search all of their back issues.

heh funny that you mention audiomidi. I live about 30 minutes from them and am a regular customer. I just go to their warehouse and pick stuff up.

cool. what are their facilities like? I have never had any problems dealing with them and their service is always professional. I just got an 828mkii a couple months ago from them. music wise, what I`m doing is usually called ethno techno or electronic fusion. I`m interested in mixing arabic, indian and other traditional musics with electronica.

What do you think of Llaox in Akihabara? They have a Music-kan that has a lot of studio hardware.

just bought a new firewire audio/midi interface (m-audio) from zzounds.com. Was the cheapest i found and shipping was free but i chose to upgrade to 2day for onlye 4 bucks!!! you cant beat that.

I haven`t been over there in a while but I remember the selection in the Akiba shops was good. Shibuya is a lot closer for me if I want to demo stuff. Then I go online to order.
