MDN: Leader of all-girl pop group Morning Musume quits
Mari Yaguchi, leader of the all-girl J-pop group Morning Musume, left the group on Thursday to concentrate on a solo career, the 22-year announced. Her move was spurred by a photograph and article appearing in the April 15 issue of the weekly magazine "Friday," describing her relationship with an actor..."I think I've betrayed myself as an idol. I've lost the qualification to lead the other members of Morning Musume, " she said. Yaguchi has pulled out of the current concert tour and will reportedly start a solo career.

I read where she has wanted to quit for a while, but they wouldn't let her. Maybe this was her way of making sure they would let her go. But come on she was just dating the guy. Oh well, now they can replace her with another 12 year old for all the Lolita gigis out there.

@ oyaji, everyone knows that to join johnnies you have to a - take it up the ass, b- give him an unreasonable chunk of your income.. some bands have left, but due to the old cunts considerable influence, most of them faded into obscurity and are now probably serving at 7-11 :wink:

The thing about "Johnny" Kitagawa doing some deep drilling on the boys in his stable is old gossip in Japan, and is mentioned, amusingly, by Karl Taro Greenfield in his highly readable "Speed Tribes."

I love how Morning Musume is shortened to "Mo Musu" by some nihonjin. Like the Japanese are so bloody busy slumping over their desks that they just don't have time to say the full dumbass name.

In 1988 Kita Koji, a member of The Four Leaves, published a 12 volume diary detailing Johnny's gay activities and his own sexual molestation by Johnny and other idols.
