Islamic Republic News Agency:
In a glorious ceremony held in Iran's embassy in the Japanese capital of Tokyo on Monday, the Islamic Republic of Iran's Army Day was celebrated. During the ceremony marking the Army Day, which was attended by a number of high-ranking civilian and military Japanese officials, a musical group from (East and West) Azarbaijan provinces in northern Iran played some pieces.

The head of Iran's elite Revolutionary Guards said Wednesday the United States must accept the Islamic Republic as a regional power which cannot be left isolated. Attending the naval war games in the Gulf, General Yahya Rahim Safavi said on state television: "America must take the wish of isolating Iran to the grave".

Iran has been showing off its "homegrown" military achievements such as radar-evading and anti-ship missiles -- which the United States regards as proof of Tehran's willingness to risk international isolation in pursuit of its nuclear ambitions.

Soviet Supreme declines credit

According to the reports released on Tuesday by the Russian media internet sources, the spokesman said that the rocket has most likely been designed and produced by Iranian specialists.

Hmm...?
Very out of character for SS to deny any such achievement except when it serves the best interest.

Maybe the Iranians really did make their own copy.
Stay on the bomb run boys. I'm goin' to get them doors open if it hare lips everybody on Bear Creek.

BBC news have your say:

In the region, Israel has nuclear weapons, Iran is making a fuss and Turkey may be heading the same way.
We can't be left too far behind or we'll be eaten alive.
Egyptians have a hunch something bad will happen in the future.

At the cinema, every movie you see is about the end of the world.
When I hear the word nuclear, I don't think of nice things. I think - Hiroshima. I connect the word to weapons, not energy.

Tohoku University graduate school taught an Iranian student, who had belonged to an institute suspected of involvement in Tehran's nuclear weapons development, about technology related to reprocessing spent nuclear fuel, according to the state-run university.

After learning about technology for taking rare metal from highly radioactive liquid waste generated during nuclear fuel reprocessing, the student went back to Iran. But the university denies the possibility that what he learned may lead to the development of weapons of mass destruction.
