Yamasaki win boost for PM's postal reform

The Yomiuri Shimbun

Combining his "desperate and all-out campaign" with the backing of the ruling coalition, former Liberal Democratic Party Vice President Taku Yamasaki regained his House of Representatives seat in Sunday's by-election in Fukuoka Prefecture, defeating a Minshuto (Democratic Party of Japan) rookie and four other contenders.

It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly; who errs, who comes short again and again, because there is no effort without error and shortcoming...

The accusations against Yamasaki are far worse then that. No one seems to want to talk about the rape accusations for fear of libel, althought they have been mentioned on several occasions in the weeklies, but it seems that people in Fukuoka are (or were) fairly aware of the kind of creep Yamasaki is.

In all defense to this guy, who's essentially being labeled a rapist, alot of the evidence against him is no where near reliable.
