damn he is ugly. Not all kiwis look like that. Usually with rugby players the uglier they are, the better they are. The good ones have usually been smashed in so many times during games (ie rucks etc) that they get a permanent beat-up look.
This guys just ugly though

So it's not true that Lord of the Rings was shot in NZ so they could use the locals as Orcs and save a bunch on make-up?

I'll test your NZ history - did you know that around 235 Maoris (from two tribes) managed to defeat 1,700 heavily armed soldiers from the 43rd British regiment at the Battle of Gate Pa (29 April 1864)?

[quote] ... The British had thought their previous heavy bombardment had taken effect, owing to the fact that there had been little response fire from within the pa. However, on entering via the breach, the British troops found themselves being fired on at very close range from M&#257]

Arguably nothing compared to the damage they can do on a rugby field.

Heh heh. But I don't think he'd want to own up to that post if a Maori was in the room.

I've found that baiting kiwis is just like baiting your older brother - you soon learn where "the line" is.

Mainichi: New Zealand rugby champ busted for drunken rampage in Kobe
A drunk rugby player belonging to the prestigious Kobe Steel, Ltd. club was arrested after going on a rampage here in the predawn hours of Sunday, assaulting four men, police said. Pierre Hola, 27, a resident of Higashinada-ku, Kobe, of New Zealand nationality, is accused of assault. He was released later in the day because he admitted to the allegations and the victims were not injured...At around 3:25 a.m. on the New Year's Day, Hola got into an argument with four men in Chuo-ku, Kobe, because he kicked a car they were riding in while he was under the influence of alcohol, investigators said. He then violently swung one of his arms at the four. Hola previously played for New Zealand's national rugby team.

Although Hola has NZ nationality, he has appeared for Tonga, not the All Blacks. He's a very good player.

Here's a completely different story of a Kiwi rugby player in Japan:

Planet Rugby: Norm Maxwell to bid Japan farewell
Former All Black lock Norm Maxwell expects to call an end to his career in Japan after the current season despite the positive impact the move to Tokyo has had on his life. The forward left New Zealand in shame last year after a charge of assault following an incident in Dunedin. Adding injury to insult, he gashed his arm falling through a glass door while celebrating the Crusaders' Super 12 victory. The incidents led Maxwell to admit publicly he had problems with alcohol, and his move to Japan appeared to come at the right time..."Living in Tokyo provides a greener and more pleasant backdrop than many would imagine," Maxwell told The Press newspaper of Canterbury. "It's a beautiful place to come. There's nice people here, very gentle, very polite sort of people...It's really nice to come here and get my body right and get myself right...That's been pretty much the main thing that's happened."

I wouldn't recommend moving to Japan to anyone with an alcohol problem so good for Norm if it has worked for him.
