Tsunemi Disrupts Northwest Flight

Postby Mulboyne » Tue May 17, 2005 4:00 pm

Freep: Vacationer charged with disrupting Northwest flight from Japan
A vacationing Japanese businessman has been charged with disrupting an international flight by yelling, spilling water on passengers and bumping a flight attendant after finding a hair on his blanket. Kaichiro Tsunemi, 58, appeared briefly in U.S. District Court in Detroit on Friday on a charge of interfering with a Northwest Airlines flight crew on May 6. Authorities said he went ballistic during the flight that day from Osaka, Japan, to Detroit after finding the hair, and started yelling, swearing and pouring water on the seats and floors. He also threw his hat, blanket, safety demonstration card and magazines into the aisle, bumped a flight attendant and verbally abused someone who was trying to interpret, FBI Agent Edward Wray said in an affidavit filed with the criminal complaint...more...

He's a 58 year old J-dude going to Disney World with a tour group. I have a feeling even one night in a Detroit jail would make him very sorry.

Yeah, actual jail would be a Bad Thing for that guy.

But really - what are the chances he's going to re-appear for his $10,000-bail trial appearance?

Heh. Being Northwest, it was probably charged for the same seat as Mr. $10,000 bond.

Yeah, Japanese businessmen seem to go mental on Northwest Airlines. On "NorthWorst" you don't get the Japanese level of service - and the flight attendants seem to be crotchety middle aged women.

Considering I went on a business trip to the US with one such oyaji I know *ALL* about it. This guy I was with brought about 7 cans of beer on board and the flight attendants threatened to tell the captain. Boy was he pissed off. Not as pissed off as he became, however, when his the hotel he booked went and doublebooked over us...... Seeing a Japanese business man throw a tantrum in broken English is quite something.

He hates America now.

It would seem Air Canada modeled their business plan on NW Airlines!

 Air Canada is also pretty shitty, but NorthWorst really takes it to the next level.

At least Air Canada planes don't feel like they are going to rattle themselves into pieces.

(ANA code shares with AC... Talk to the ANA stewardesses to get the best service.)

Northwest has sucked from way back. It's like a bus with wings.
Most of the service on US airlines sucks.
The Japan-US routes are money making routes and you think they would improve the service. There are usually about 80% Japanese on board and they have 2 or 3 Japanese speaking flight attendants on a 747 size aircraft.

The US airlines have a huge advantage in available routed with the aviation treaties the uS has and most are still going broke. The industry needs a shakeup.

Had a friend who worked at KIX for a few years... He said NW had by far the most problems with their planes -- delays due to "mechanical diffiuclties" etc. I guess he might have been biased through some biz transaction though.
