Actually, I am now so assimilated that I've even stopped eating on the train. Now I snack in front of the conbini until I'm finished, throw away the wrappings, and then get on the train.

Actually, there is PLENTY of eating on the trains here.

Every Saturday morning I would get on the Yokosuka Line to go to work and it is filled with obaaasan with their shoes off eating eki-ben lunches and drinking beer on their daytripping way to Bite-the-Big-Buddha in Kamakura. It was always an odd sight to see those obaasan getting blitzed at 7:30am with their stinky feet pointed at the zombie salarymen in front of them.
