What a true ability to waffle. Contrast this with Blinky's position in the book which he co-authored Sony's Mori, "The Japan that can say No!", where he rationalized the rights Japan has to resist all external political pressures for government (or business) action and general to exist by itself, no help needed. This in redress to the Japan Bashing that was occuring in the US and the strong rebutes Japan received for secretly selling the submarine silencing props and technology to the then Soviet Union (Toshiba and Ishikawajima-Harima Heavy Industries). This technology is undoubtably inplace on the Chinese boats now.

It was okay then when Japan seemed set to rule the economic world, but now that it isn't, the US Security Pact suddenly becomes important to him.

Blinky shocked, Ishihara rants why are people getting upset about the deaths of 20 or so in Iraq

Blinky remembers the good ol' days when Mobs used to go on a murderous orgy of death against Koreans during the Kobe quake and everything was genki, no one would bat an eyelid

If Blinky starts trouble with China he'll learn the Chinese ain't so inferior

EU is not yet ready to lift an arms embargo on China, although that remains its eventual aim, an official said Wednesday, citing notably concerns over human rights and Beijing's anti-secession law.

So Subs are going to attack Tokyo and we must fight the Chinese before China gets us ? Unbelievable that he continues to waste tax payers money on this uyoku ultra nationalist crap.

I think he was refering to possible changes in US opinions over such things as rising death toll etc., and possible US pull-outs circa the Vietnam myth. That is why he referenced the Security Pact. However, if they were to sink an aircraft carrier with a battle complement of over 5,000 hands, the perps might need to find some immediate cover, as no one in the US is going shrink away from that attack. That could have mega-ton results.

One side stuck in the 1980s still pretending they're superior than the other and refusing to take other (Asian) countries seriously, and the other economically jealous while their GDP has been the world's no.2 since 1998 and still ranting on about something that happened 68 years ago, all the while the two are each other's most important economic partners... I say Japan and China deserve each other.
