Akebono Vs. Mike Tyson and Bob Sapp?!!?!?

Postby kenchan » Wed Nov 12, 2003 5:30 am

I heard on a US radio station today while going to work that Akebono will fight Tyson, and then on a Japanese radio station, that Bob Sapp and Akebono will fight in K1!

What do you guys think of this? I mean such sacred title being mixed and associated with such other BIG names like Tyson and Sapp! I don't know about you, but I would like to see those fights!!!

I actually got to meet Bob Sapp personally, he is HUGE, he lives near Seattle. When I shook his hand I couldn't close my hand, I had to shake it open handed.

I cannot really say who will win, cause they're all huge and all..but its a battle of the giants, if the fight actually follows thru.

Speaking as one who sat in the Budokan and watched Muhammad Ali fool around with Antonio Inoki for 15 boring rounds I think any cross match between Boxers / K1 Fighters and Sumo wrestlers would be a farce of wonderful proportions.

Three 'has beens' prancing around pretending to fight each other to the cheers of thousands of adolescents - some of who *actually* believe it's real. Who could ask for a more entertaining (and lucrative ) evening. Good luck to em.

Wonder if they would consider a round robin with a over the hill judo/karate player from Nagoya. I need the money :D

Steve B is ready to rumble! Now there's a fight we all will pay to see. :)

As a guy who didn't use my free tickets to see Tyson lose his "easy" fight iin Tokyo Dome...... all I can say is, " Ya never know." Oh Buddha, I'm an acne-covered adolescent who *actually* believes... sucker.

OnFeb. 11, 1990,Tyson lost his world heavyweight title to the relatively
unknown Buster Douglas in a huge upset at the Tokyo Dome. And, damn, that fight was even within walking distance of my old rabbit box.

Inoki versus Ali

I had never heard of this bout. It sounds really strange but interesting. I'm really surprised Ali didn't land a haymaker in the first round.

Akebono VS Sapp: New Year's Eve Nagoya

Talking BIG? Sapp versus Akebono
accesseonline
...fight pitting Godzilla big Sapp against King Kong big Akebono would be... just plain big.
The ex-NFL player and former sumo champion will clash in "Dynamite 2003" a mammoth K-1 event being held New Year's Eve at the Nagoya Dome.
Sapp said it is the biggest fight in his brief fighting career in more ways than one.
"You can say he will have an advantage in height and weigh," Sapp said of one of the few opponents that can dwarf him. Akebono is listed at 6'9" and 440 lbs., compared to Sapp's paltry 6'6" and 350lbs. For Sapp, who is use to being the biggest and baddest in the ring, the fight will dictate a change in strategy.

Sounds like an opportunity to impose on Steve Bildermann during the New Year's holiday and crash at his place just to see the fight of the century. That would be okay with you Steve, right? I mean, you wouldn't mind having a herd of fucked gaijin trampling around your place, getting plastered, and all that. :D  :bukkake: :bounce:

The mo' F'ed gaijin, Mike Tyson

HOW TYSON SPENT COOL $470M ON HIS WAY TO FISCAL RUINNYpost.com / February 15, 2004 --WHEN it comes to money, boxer Mike Tyson has a famously short memory.
This week, the one-time world heavyweight champion has been wracking what is left of his punch-drunk brain to remember what happened to the fortune - estimated at $470 million - he has frittered away.
Now down to his last $5,000 and a self-declared bankrupt, he has been trying, at the behest of his lawyers, to work out where it all went. ...details of his demise, chronicled in the court pa pers, make fascinating reading. In one month, last November, he earned just $5....
....Now he is reduced to negotiating a deal for himself to fight a wrestling match in Japan with a former funeral-home worker and failed football player called The Beast.

Sad soap opera coming to an end?
BBC News, 1 August
Mike Tyson cut a sad figure as he sat on his stool at the end of his defeat to Danny Williams. The former world champion was knocked out in the fourth round by the British journeyman after 17 months on the sidelines....
And with his top-level boxing career - and ability to earn big purses - seemingly in ruins, Tyson is rumoured to be considering an offer to join Japan's lucrative K1 all-in fighting sport.
To many, seeing boxing's youngest-ever heavyweight champion of the world reduced to taking on martial arts specialists for cash to pay off debts would be a tragic end...

A well written behind the scences and before the KO look at Mike Tyson.

It used to be that getting into a Mike Tyson training session was like breaking into Ft. Knox. Now, as he heads into the twilight of his star-crossed career, his handlers have taken on a proactive approach to rehabilitating the image of the often moody and petulant Tyson.

It's a kinder, gentler Tyson. At least it is right now.

 http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/boxing/news/story?id=1846655

They say that the last thing a fighter loses is his punch. With that, Tyson still remains at least an outside threat in a mediocre heavyweight division. But with that being said, it's been about a year-and-a-half since his last fight, he was beaten soundly by Lennox Lewis before that, and it's been a while since Tyson had a victory against a respected foe. At age 38, not only are the sands of time running out, his body is no longer the machine it once was.

Outside of the sumo ring Akebono is just another fat-guy. I could be wrong, but in my experience Samoans are big but not all that tough. They have a lot of leg problems they tend to be really slow and lack the sort of rhythm needed in a fight.

I'm not sure what Sapp's problem is but he doesn't hold up to punishment well. He's big and mean looking, but he's a little bit of a pansy when he starts getting hit.

Tyson is still a monster, neither Akebono nor Sapp could stand up to a Tyson punch.

Tyson set up with a lower-classed fighter, said he would beat his last opponent like a fish but Mike Tyson headbutts McBride and Tyson quits after stumbling to the floor out of breath.

I was writing gibberish.
In other words Tyson made a disgrace of himself in boxing again.

headbutted the guy in the boxing match, threw a low-blow and tried to bite his nipple. Tyson is totally broke from guys like DonKing and has outstanding tax bills to pay

Tyson might be coming to K1 soon, but better moves fast if he wants to win as Sapp is getting better in the ring and no longer looks like a big teddy bear.

Someone has said that he owes the IRS so much in back taxes that the entire purse for his last fight would not even pay half of it. He may not even be able to get out of the states to fight in K1 if they pull his passport!

Sapp and Tyson, they are two amazing and strange stories
When Sapp a former NFL came to K1 he made a big upset by beating the stuff out of the old kickboxing K-1 champ Ernesto Hoost. Sapp was big and awkward and had no karate skills, he just ran into Hoost and hit him with a windmill of wild swinging punches to knock the former champ out, it was one of K1's biggest upsets. Then the Beast Sapp went up against some fresh and tough K1 fighters like Bonjasky, Sefo, and Cro cop, Bob Sapp got the stuffing beaten and kicked out of him and many thought it was the end for the Beast. However Sapp was really smart and marketed himself really well, his name was on T-shirts, videos, pencils...the Sapp name was everywhere. He even became a movie star in Elektra and got a role in The Longest Yard, Sapp had no kung fu or K1 skills to begin with has studied hard and has recently re-invented himself and comeback to win the Japan GP in K1. Bob is 2m tall and weighs in at 187kg, Sapp is a man mountain, Sapp and Tyson had a heated verbal exchange in Las Vegas after Sapp defeated American Kimo, Sapp said he will fight Tyson anytime, however since then Tyson has had trouble getting into Japan and lost fights to McBride, Lewis and Williams.

Image

Mike Tyson started out with some great early wins, in 1986 he became the youngest ever to win the world heavyweight title. His first loss in Japan 1990 was to unheralded Buster Douglas in Tokyo which punctured his aura of invincibility. Tyson's problems outside boxing were starting to gain prominence too, his marriage to Robin Givens was heading for divorce, and his future contract was being clawed over by Don King and Bill Cayton. Tyson's life since then has been marked by violence, suicide attempts, drug abuse, rape convictions, instability, and antisocial behavior. In 1990 New York City civil jury awards Sandra Miller $100 for battery after an incident in which boxer Tyson grabbed her breasts, insulted and propositioned her. Tyson was back into more bad business with street brawls, anti social behavious and in 1992 serving his prison sentence as a rapist. In 96 Tyson regained gained one of the world heavy weight belts winning the WBC title from Frank Bruno in three rounds,
Image
also in 1996 he lost to Evander Holyfield, and in a 1997 rematch bit off a chunk in Holyfield's ear, for which he was temporarily banned from boxing. Tyson sought to fight Lennox Lewis in 2002 but Nevada's boxing commission refused him a license to box as he was facing possible sexual assault charges. Tyson's remarks to Lewis were more vicious than anything he had ever said before. "I want to eat you heart and then eat your children" he screamed. A scuffle at a press conference finally removed any chance of a Nevada fight. The fight actually occurred in June in Memphis, Tennessee. Tyson lost in the eighth round by knockout. 2003 - Tyson attends a charity benefit at Michael Jackson's Neverland Ranch. When asked why he came, Tyson confesses "Because I've got nothing else to do." 2004 Tyson faced Danny Williams in another 'come-back' fight staged in Louisville, Kentucky. Tyson dominated the opening two rounds. The third round was more even, with Williams getting in some clean blows and also a few illegal ones, for which he was penalized. In the fourth round Tyson was surprisingly knocked out. In 2004 Mike Tyson announces that he's bankrupt "I've got nowhere to live. I've been crashing with friends, literally sleeping in shelters. Unsavoury characters are giving me money and I'm taking it. I need it. The drug dealers, they sympathise with me. They see me as some sort of pathetic character, Rap artist 50 Cent purchases Tyson's 48,000-square-foot mansion. 2005 - Tyson fails to come out for the seventh round against Kevin McBride in Washington, D.C.. After the fight, Tyson said "I don't have the stomach for this anymore. His bank account has been said to have a total of only 5,000 dollars, Don King has taken a heap of his money, his owes his ex-wife cash and the IRS tax people are after him for cash.

Those are only a fraction of the ways Mike Tyson f*cked up his life, he has major drug problems, is a nutcase, owes about 40 million to people and the government. If you looked at both these men starting out you would have said Sapp is the Fucked one, the F*cked gaijin, while Tyson will be a world champ. However Tyson turned out to be our F%*ked gaijin, Tyson what a joke !!
