New shinkansen modeled after gay mice

AP News / RIFU, northern Japan----Japan's newest test model of Shinkansen bullet train is unveiled... a new generation model, displayed two types of the jade-color models, with different shapes of its nose. Each has ear-like devices placed on its roof ...

What is wrong with the guy who designs these things these days... the last good-looking shinkansen went out of production years ago.

It's all downhill f r o m there.... the 700 series looks like a frigging shoe and I don't even know what this is supposed to look like. Shugs, even I could have designed a better-looking, more aerodynamic train.

If you see an FG on this train with a paper bag over his head, it's probably me. :roll:

On second thoughts, I suppose it's not that bad... the "ears" are airbrakes and fold away during normal operation :)

But it's still doesn't beat the 500 or the original TGV in terms of sheer style 8)

The dimples on golf balls creates a turbulent boundary layer around the ball and therefore reduces drag. Maybe those 'ears' have something to do with that. Or maybe its just a publicity stunt. :wink:

Because of the recent killer train wreck, the Japan Railways PR people wanted to push the safety features, hence the mouse ears were displayed. However, check out the silly hard hats the Press were forced to wear to take pictures of the train...Japanese hat/uniform fetish.
