Columbian strippers expose cunning taskmaster
A man who sent at least 75 Columbian women to striptease theaters across Japan while at the same time confiscating their passports to prevent escape has been arrested, police have said.
Does anyone know if that is a crime in itself? I would think that stealing passports should be a felony. :?:

No - It's not a crime. A few years back several 'teachers' sued because their passports had been 'held' by their sponsor but the court said that because they could have obtained replacement passports from their consul the 'sponsor' was not doing anything wrong.

Make of that what you will.

If that was true, then why did the employer hold the passports? It really would benefit everyone if judges and lawyers were required to take a single course in introductory logic.
