Too many times, Japanese girls have likened being with me was like being with a Wookiee ...minus some of the hair and housetraining. :P

Tomorrow we finally get to see the film the rest of the world has already forgotten. Could someone explain to me again why we have to wait two months after the rest of the world gets to see it? And don't tell me it's because they have to dub it because the kids can't read the kanji. China and Korea got to see it. Why did we have to wait?
Anyway, I'm expecting another mixed bag of shitty dialogue, unbelievably cool moments, and really stupid and unexplainable moments that have wrecked the prequels. I can pin it down to Return of the Jedi actually, and I remember when I was watching it as a 12 year old, remember when Chewbacca and some ewoks were swinging from the trees onto a walker, and Chewbacca did the tarzan cry? That was the first. Eps 1,2,and I hear 3, are littered with stupid things like this. I hear that when Vader puts his mask on, he has a big "Mendozaaaaa!" moment like McBain on The Simpsons. What an incredibly stupid, yet apt way to end the prequels.
Anyway, this is the last time we get to see the big STAR WARS and the crawl, and not know what's going to happen next off by heart. Last time ever. ENJOY!

Traditionally, all Star Wars movies have been released in May. Don't ask me why. In Japan, however, the traditional release date is in July. Again, don't ask me why. It has nothing to do with preparation time or logistics. Apparently it's strictly by choice.

Is that fucked up or what!?!! :wall:

I saw Ep 1 in Melbourne, first session, full of fans. Movie sucked, but a great expereince. Ep2, I went to CoronaWorld in Anjo to see another movie, and noticed that they had advanced screenings of Ep2, so I saw that in a freezing cold cinema with five other people. If they showed it at the same time as the rest of the world, it might have some kind of buzz about it. But there is none. But I think I know why they wait. They need time to create and print all of those stupid Star Wars family trees in the dozens of DVD magazines so everyone knows exactly what's going on and what will happen before they see it. Or else, how do you know it's good?
BTW here's a line in the new movie from Yoda. This might give you a clue about the prequels, if you've never seen , and how fucking strange they are. Just imagine a line or moment like this every five minutes.

Yoda "Not if anything to do about it I have."

My alltime favourite Prequel line is again by yoda, in Ep2

"Around the survivors a perimeter create."

You'd think that if the guy knows the words survivors and perimeters, he could get the fucking word order correct. Needs to go to that Full Metal Jacket school on the FG news last week, I reckon.

to quote master yoda in Ep3,

The beginning of school summer vacation is July in Japan---Star Wars is released then to capture the pent-up demand for kid-entertainment then.

Read Japan Today's cover story http://metropolis.japantoday.com/archive/380s/archiveinc.htm
(The article is far too whimpy. Japanese film companies are grossly missmanaged, and slow movie releases many times are just fuckups.)

Huh? Now there are two, yes 2, Star Wars art exhibits running in Tokyo--one in Meguro and another in Yurakucho. Yikes! Tokyoites sure are art crazy.

Since its first release in 1977, Star Wars has been a major success, each five films of them. The grandeur of the props, costumes and sets have made this adventure fantasy film into a work of art.
This exhibition is held as a commemoration to the opening of "Episode 3: The Revenge of the Sith", focusing on the starship, the main feature being Anakin and Ob-Wan Kenobi's "Jedi Star Fighter". The actual starships are both displayed for the public...
