Yes, that sounds lovely, and what I was talking about, though I would like to see the regulators also get in on the programme. Not for monitoring so much as registration, self-reporting, etc. etc. I do believe that most operators can be trusted, but I think there is also a need to ensure there is comprehensive obedience to the regulations, especially in busier urban areas, if only to prevent a backlash of unsubstantiated rumours and complaints.

I've only seen love hotels like that...basically locked in til you pay to get out for the time you've been there. I imagine during a fire or right after an earthquake, that could be very problematic.

You don't have to convince me there is a problem with anti-Semitism in the USA, Australia and other places but today, outside the Arab/Muslim world, only in Europe do Jews fear for their safety just for being recognized as Jews in public. The significant numbers of Malays and Indonesians, for example, who lived in Oz under various educational schemes from the 1960s, didn't import anti Jewish hostility.

Nor did those educated, skilled Muslims who immigrated to Australia under the same strict visa conditions as other immigrants in the 80s and 90s. Actually the J blokes smoking around Oz cities where it's against local laws aren't so bad when I tell em to cut it out and if they don't I grab the ciggies. The police in Oz wised up to J gangsters some time back when finally the corrupt but pretending not to be Japanese law enforcement authorities had to start co-operating with international authorities because of different treaties Japan signed. The Yakuza aren't blatantly strutting around Queensland golf courses the way they used to.

Most of the annoyances caused by J people are of the more harmless kind.
