Out of this world sake is brewing

Japan to have a taste of sake from space

Whether a key ingredient for a special batch of sake that has been to outer space and back will change the taste of the rice wine will soon be found out as the brew is being prepared in western Japan.
Sake brewers in Kochi prefecture began preparing this year's batch with yeast that completed a 10-day stay at the International Space Station, Nihon Keizai Shimbun reported on Tuesday.
Labelled "Space Sake", the brew will be ready for global and domestic sales next April.
Ten test tubes of yeast were launched on the Russian Soyuz rocket on October 1 for just 12-million yen ($1-million), Japan's business daily said....more...

"Don't drink that piss!" is the call from one-time Astronaut Jeb Billy-Bob Hillbilly, who won a tour of the international space station (including a side-trip to the moon) from a local radio station.

Pressed to explain, Jeb (of no fixed address) confessed "Well, ya see, we was given jars to piss in and all and they look very much like them tubes the Japanese sent up. Now, I'm not saying I definitely did do it, but I MAY have used one of them tubes to take a leak during the trip. And when I say one tube, I mean, it could've been all 10 of them. I don't really recall that well. I guess I shouldn't have taken that hooch up with me. Those other astronauts seemed a little mad about that ..."
