[floatl]Image[/floatl]GlobeandMail: Japan's PM to Graceland? 'Arrigato. Domo arrigato'
Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi, who cut a CD of Elvis Presley songs shortly after taking office in 2001, could see out his term with a visit to the King of Rock 'n' Roll's Graceland mansion in Tennessee. U.S. ambassador to Japan Thomas Schieffer said he raised the possibility of a visit to Graceland when he visited the prime minister's office. Koizumi, 64, was born seven years to the day after Elvis Presley and regularly voices his passion for him.

Seems like an appropriate time to also mention: Lisa Marie Presley Weds in Kyoto.

Presley family is not wacky: Priscilla:lol:

news.ninemsn.com, Tuesday Feb 28 15:45 AEDT
Priscilla Presley says she is offended by suggestions there is something wacky about her family....labelled as [SIZE="2"]"kooky kabuki"[/SIZE] her daughter Lisa Marie's marriage to musician Michael Lockwood in Japan, with both wearing kimonos.
"It does offend me," Presley told AAP in Sydney.
"It was not wacky in any sense of the word because you appreciate a culture and you appreciate tradition, that is wacky for somebody to say that."...more...

Hey, Japan offers to freeze Iranian bank accounts over the nuke dispute, almost no ink here. But Koizumi's love for Elvis is even making the news on the local TV news level...although this might be due to the media's excitement over seeing Bush next to another world leader and Bush actually looks to be more sensible (although probably five minutes later he was likely mouthing off about how the consitution doesn't apply to presidents hunting evil doers.)

Hard to believe it, but Koizumi is the sanest person in this picture. Perhaps that is why it's news.

Were it not for Scientology, I would either be completely insane or dead by now.

- Lisa Marie Presley

I wish that he [Elvis] knew what Scientology was before he died.

- Priscilla Presley

This job would be a heck of a lot easier if I was dictator.

There appears to be a bit of an information time lag in Michigan:

Mlive: Dozens of local entertainers embark on tour of Japan
...''We're also doing a big piece I arranged from '50s and '60s rock entitled 'Karaoke Splendora.' This starts out with a song requested by the Japanese Prime Minister, 'Can't Help Falling In Love with You,''' Nisula said. Prime Minister Shinzo Abe is an Elvis Presley fan, and requested the song during a trip to the United States, Nisula said...
