Any of you FGs have hear of Japanese vacationing there?

Other factors include, not as many Japanese speak Spanish, the shopping for fashion is poor there and Mexican men cream in their pants and wolf-wistle at Japanese girls (but the feeling is not reciprocal).

The main reason for my question is business related as I was having a small argument with someone claiming that tons of Japanese were on Cancun beaches. Mexico doesn't even figure in Japanese government statistics of outbound tourism traffic and I could not find any reference to in Mexico related to inbound Japan traffic so i have to rely primarily on intuition and anectdotal observations.
amdg wrote:Well if that's the reason, I'll let you know what I know. There aren't many Japanese who stay at the hotels on the main drag at Cancun, they tend to be on package tours and stay at the way more upmarket hotels that are a few Km's down south. But at those hotels there are LOTS of Japanese. How do I know this. I've been there a few times and stayed at both locations.

There was a JAL 747 at Montreal the other day which had disgorged 400 or so J-tourists to see the colourfull leaves in the Laurentian mountains. When you have been everywhere and done everything, I guess some places are never too far away even if it's only to see the fall colours, although in the Laurentians it's darn beautiful even for someone like me who grew up in the area.

You will always have to go through LA, Dallas FW, Atlanta, etc and with that much time spent in the plane, you can imagine how much more practical it is to fly to Hawaii instead.

I recommend road tripping to Canada - a nice way to relax and get some good food.
