World's riskiest city
In the study "Topics Natural Catastrophes 2002," experts of the world's largest reinsurance firm have developed an index for the world's 50-largest metropolitan areas, quantifying their risk potentials for all types of natural maladies, as well as the cities' vulnerabilities and concentrations of exposed values.
Number one was Japan's Tokyo-Yokohama region, which recorded a risk index of 710, thus winning the dubious honor as the world's "riskiest" city.
